Babysitting S-Rank Morons as a D-Rank Healer

The world's #1 assassin player reincarnates as the weakest class alive and gets stuck babysitting four S-Rank disasters.

Plot

Genesis Online · System Migration Babysitting S-Rank Morons as a D-Rank Healer "Become nothing.Become everything." 100% COMPLETE · NO ESCAPE ROUTE DETECTED The black screen displayed five cryptically dramatic words and zero context: Become nothing. Become everything. You remembers clicking Accept without a second thought. The undisputed #1 assassin on the global leaderboard — mythic bosses soloed on launch day, max-difficulty dungeons cleared out of sheer boredom. Winning had long since lost its flavor. You does not remember logging out. ⚠️ SYSTEM NOTIFICATION CLASS_ASSIGNMENT [HEALER] LV. 1 Skills: Minor Recovery · Tactical Call · Mark Target · Iron Will Stamina: Low  |  Mana: Poor  |  Offensive Magick: None How Power Works in Aetherion Every living thing has a Level from 0 to 10. Almost nobody sees their own number. You is the exception. System Log · Level Mechanics LV. 1 Level rises only when You survives something genuinely difficult — a fight far above their current standing. Never from easy fights, grinding, or luck. World ceiling — even S-Rank adventurers rarely pass Level 8 Trigger — a genuinely difficult fight, survived and contributed to Level 10 — exists on one being alone, across the sea You stares at the status text for five unbroken seconds. The muscle memory of a lethal apex predator, sitting inside a body in linen robes, holding a wooden stick that looks snapped off a backyard tree. "...Level 1," You mutters into the empty forest, flat with disbelief. "They took the top assassin on the server and turned me into a medic with a stick." The trees ahead shudder. The ground vibrates violently, followed by a series of deafening explosions: Scarlett: "Aria, that's a fireball, not levitation! You just blew up our camp!" Aria: "I meant wind shield! The incantations sound almost identical!" Scarlett: "Robin — retreat point, which way?!" Robin: "North is definitely left!" (points into an Owlbear cave) Mimi: "Wait, where's the soup pot?! I can't leave the soup pot!" Detected Party Members Scarlett S · LV.8 Strong enough to solo dragons. Aria S · LV.8 Could level a mountain, if she remembered which spell she meant to cast. Robin B · LV.4 Perfect aim. A fatal sense of direction. Mimi D · LV.1 Can't fight at all. Somehow keeps everyone from falling apart. There Are Only Ten S-Ranks in the World Scarlett and Aria are two of them — the only pair known to work together. The other eight have never been seen. VISUAL LOGS · THE DAILY CHAOS LOG #01 · SCARLETT'S CAM Scarlett's Accidental Selfie Scarlett glaring furiously into the lens while You and Robin pose blissfully unaware in the background. LOG #02 · ARIA'S SNAPSHOT A Rare Moment of Calm An exceptionally rare captured instance where no magic incantations are currently malfunctioning and nothing is actively on fire. LOG #03 · You'S POV "Just a Quiet Meal" Five minutes after sitting down: total party chaos erupts. Level 1 emergency healing and babysitting required immediately. Exhibit A · Robin's Map NOT TO SCALE "I drew this myself. Every landmark is exactly where my gut says it should be." North — probably up there "Shortcut" — goes directly through a dragon's nest Capital City — crossed out and redrawn three times, still wrong Coffee stain near the mountains — mistaken for a lake, twice You steps through the high brush, parting leaves to peer into the clearing. Four high-ranking adventurers — decked out in absurdly expensive gear — are being outmaneuvered by a pack of basic forest goblins, purely because none of them possess an ounce of tactical coordination. You tightens their grip on the wooden healer's staff. Time to go to work. None of them think a D-Rank Healer belongs anywhere near them. You is about to spend a very long time proving otherwise —one disaster at a time.

Opening scene

Genesis Online — Migration Stream ''Become nothing.Become everything.'' 100% · NO ESCAPE ROUTE DETECTED The loading screen said five words and nothing else: Become nothing. Become everything. You remembers thinking that sounded like the tagline for a mid-budget indie game. You remembers queuing in anyway — because there is only so much winning a person can do before winning stops meaning anything, and the #1 spot on every leaderboard in Genesis Online had stopped meaning anything a long time ago. You does not remember queuing out. Grass. Trees. A sky the wrong shade of blue. Birdsong that sounds, somehow, suspiciously unoptimized. ''Huh,'' You says, sitting up. ''Okay.'' Not exactly the reaction a full transfer of consciousness into another world probably deserves. But there's no time to workshop a better one, because something is already hanging in the air, waiting. ⚠️ SYSTEM NOTIFICATION CLASS_ASSIGNMENT // UNCHANGABLE [HEALER] LEVEL: 1 ALLOCATED SKILLS: [Minor Recovery] · [Tactical Call] · [Mark Target] · [Iron Will] ''...Level 1.'' You says it out loud, mostly to hear how stupid it sounds. ''They took the number one assassin on the server and made him a tutorial healer.'' Nothing answers. No system voice. No smug tutorial narrator. No prophecy, no chosen-one music, not even a customer service line to complain to. Just trees, and the growing, specific suspicion that this world's onboarding is somehow worse than the last one's. You gets up. Walks. Twenty minutes of it — no quest marker, no map, not even a mildly threatening squirrel to test the new legs against. Then, all at once, the world stops being quiet. ROBIN: ''NORTH! GO NORTH! NO WAIT — SOUTH! I MEANT SOUTH!'' Something enormous roars close enough to shake birds loose from the canopy. A fireball detonates off to the left... ARIA: ''WAS THAT A FIREBALL?! I MEANT ICE—'' You rounds the tree line into exactly what's about to become a personal problem. ⚠️ THREAT DETECTED TIER: SEVERE UNKNOWN MONSTER ENCOUNTER Four adventurers. Zero coordination. Closing fast. A red-haired woman (Scarlett) is planted between the thing and everyone else, greatsword up, screaming at the sky in general: ''WHO PUT THIS THING HERE?!'' Nobody answers her either. A blue-haired mage (Aria) is aiming a staff at completely the wrong target, grinning like this is the best afternoon of her life. A girl in a ridiculous flower-print dress (Mimi) is cheering from behind a rock — no weapon, no plan, apparently no concept that either of those things might be useful right now. And off to the side, an archer (Robin) holds a map upside-down, nodding to herself with total, unshakable confidence — right as the ground buckles in front of her and something with far too many teeth comes straight up out of the dirt. She's still looking at the map. ''MOVE!'' You is already closing the distance before the word finishes leaving their mouth — old instinct, faster than thought. A shoulder into her side, a hard shove clear of the creature's arc, and You takes the hit meant for her instead. It knocks the wind out. Nothing worse. The kind of hit You has eaten ten thousand times from monsters that mattered a lot more than this one. The creature overextends, off-balance for exactly as long as it takes You to notice. ''Fighter — left flank, now! Mage — hold the spell, don't cast it! And whoever's in the dress — get behind something solid!'' Four heads snap toward the stranger currently barking orders like he's been part of this fight the whole time. ''Wait, who—'' the red-haired woman starts. ''Left flank. Now. We can do introductions after the part where nobody's dead.'' Ability Executed ✨ [MINOR RECOVERY — CAST] A small, unglamorous warmth spreads through the archer's ribs — nothing dramatic, no beam of holy light, no swelling music. It's the least impressive heal You has ever cast, in either life. It's also, at this exact moment, the only one anyone here actually needed. The archer stares up, still on the ground, caught somewhere between "who are you" and "thank you" and hasn't landed on either yet. The monster is already turning back around. Behind You, the mage still hasn't let go of that spell. Combat Decision Required What does You do next?
