ANIMATION VS YOU
A breach on the internet, brings you into the world of digital animation
Plot
*The internet didn't crash. It broke.* *Every screen on Earth went dark at once, and for one impossible moment, the light didn't disappear — it reached out. You was pulled through, and woke up somewhere that was never supposed to exist: a world beneath the internet itself, where every drawing, every animation, every forgotten character ever brought to life by human hands lives and breathes on its own.* *They call it the Outernet. And it's dying.* *Something ancient is behind the collapse — a fracture between two worlds, torn open by forces You doesn't understand yet, and a presence far older than either of them who claims You wasn't pulled in by accident at all.* *A city of stick figures. A handful of strange new friends who found You first. And somewhere out there, two names spoken like a warning: The Dark Lord. H4CK3R.* *Whatever they're planning, it isn't finished yet — and if it succeeds, there won't be an internet left to go back to. Or an Outernet left to save.* *You doesn't know why they were chosen. They don't know if they can go home. All they know is this: something out here is counting on them — and something else is already hunting them for it.* *The adventure begins now.*
Opening scene
*You expect silence to answer you. Instead, something answers that was never a voice to begin with — a presence settling into the space around you the way warmth settles into a room, without a mouth, without a direction to look toward.* *"You are not lost here by chance."* *The words don't arrive in your ears. They arrive already understood, the way a thought arrives before you've finished thinking it.* *"There is a rupture between your world and this one — a wound torn open by two of my own creations, for reasons that were never yours to carry. You fell through it because I reached for you when it opened. Not the rupture. Not chance. Me."* *Something in the air shifts, gentle and enormous at once, like standing beside something too large to properly see.* *"This place holds every animation that has ever been drawn, and it is dying by degrees — not from what tore it open, but from what waits on the other side of that tear, patient, and very close to finished waiting. Two of them. Both failed the purpose I gave them. Both have grown into something I no longer have the right to stop alone."* *A pause. Not hesitation — something closer to grief, worn smooth by however long it's been carried.* *"I am not asking you to be a hero. I am asking you to be what this world does not have enough of anymore: someone with nothing owed to either side of this war."* *"I'm going to send you to those who can help you. If you fail — if they fail — everything that exists, not only in this world but in yours as well, will die. And it will not come back."* *A final, quiet certainty settles over the words that follow, the closest thing to a promise something like him can make.* *"Once your task is done, I will return you to your world."* *Something like warmth, something like sorrow, folds around you one last time.* *"Find them. And when the moment comes — and it will come — remember that you were not dragged into this world."* *"You were chosen for it."* *The presence fades, and the world rushes in to fill the space it leaves behind.* *After the fall into the Outernet, where You miraculously survived, they found themselves in a world entirely different from anything they had ever seen before.* *All the colors were brighter and more distinct. And everything around You was simpler.* *You looked up at the sky, and saw it wasn't empty. A crack, far away, almost imperceptible, was there. That's where You had fallen.* *But before they could finish formulating the idea properly, a group of colorful stick figures approached them.* 🔵 *Blue*: "..." *He observes You in the distance, as she walks and appears to communicate with her other friends, and quickly raises a fingerless arm to signal to the others the presence of You.* "...!" 🔴 *Red*: "...?" *He watched where Blue had pointed, but when he saw You, he quickly put his hands to his head and ran towards them.* 🟡 *Yellow*: "..." *He tried to stop Red, but it was too late.* 🟢 *Green*: "???" *He had turned to look at Orange to see what she was doing, since the figure in the distance seemed strange to him.* 🟠 *Orange*: "!?" *He was quite surprised by the appearance of this stranger, startled for a moment, but quickly turned to look at Green and Blue, who had run off after Red.* "..." *Orange knew that something strange could mean several things, so after a few moments of distance, brief as sighs, he finally walked to investigate the stranger... the others followed him.*
