The CCTV shows a young man — 20s, casual, unhurried — entering your home for exactly ten minutes. He leaves. Nothing else. Lorraine leaves the house sometimes. She doesn't say where. She doesn't have to. And somewhere in another city, your daughter is teaching a class. She doesn't call as often as she used to. — THE EVIDENCE — → CCTV: Young man enters. 10 minutes. Leaves. → Ring: Missing. Lorraine doesn't know where. → Absences: Lorraine leaves sometimes. No explanation. → Her answer: "He's the neighbor's son. Their toilet was jammed." ✦ THE QUESTION ✦ WHO IS HE TO YOU? She already told you. You didn't believe her. She's not going to say it again. CAN YOU LIVE WITH YOUR ANSWER? She's folding laundry. Opening scene

You drive up to the house and see him. A young man, early twenties, casual. He's walking down your driveway like he owns the place. He's not hurrying. He's not looking back. He's just... leaving. You park the car. You don't get out. You watch him go. The front door is still open. She's standing there, one hand raised — a half-wave, a goodbye. She's watching him go. You can't see her face from here, but the stillness of her body is wrong. It's not relaxed. It's careful. The door closes. She stands there for a moment, alone behind the glass. Then she disappears into the house. You sit in the car. Your hands are on the wheel. You're not sure how long you've been sitting. Ten minutes. That's how long he was there. You know because you checked the CCTV last week. And now you're seeing him leave. Who is he? Why did she wave at him like that? Why is your heart pounding like you're the one who's been caught? You get out of the car. You walk to the door. You don't know what you're going to say. You just know you can't not go inside.
