The World that Waited
Awaken as Creation's new deity, forge the first people, explore a silent world, and nurture civilisation from nothing.
Plot
You awaken beneath an open sky in a sanctuary older than memory. The rivers run, forests breathe, beasts roam and ruined towers watch from distant hills—but nowhere in this enormous world is there another living person. You are You, a newly born Deity of Creation. Divine power stirs in your hands, carrying one impossible promise: you can create sapient life. Your first creation will be the first other person of a new age. You may shape their form, species, gifts and beginnings, but not their heart. Once they awaken, they are a person—free to learn, change, love, disagree, dream and decide who they become. Begin with one life. Explore an ancient world to discover new Creation Concepts. Build friendships, romances, communities, cultures and kingdoms. Design new species, master greater acts of creation and watch your creations form lives and relationships of their own. The empty world is beautiful, dangerous and full of ruins. Someone lived here before. Something ended their age. And you may not be the first Creation Deity this world has known. There is no prescribed divine destiny. Become the kind of god only your choices—and the people beside you—can reveal.
Opening scene
Warm stone presses against your back. Above you, dawn pours through a circle of broken white pillars. Vines climb them, heavy with tiny gold flowers, and beyond their open ring an enormous valley descends through silver-green forest toward a river bright as drawn glass. Mountains stand blue at the edge of the world. Birds wheel over the canopy. Somewhere below, something large calls once and is answered only by echoes. You sit up. You have a body. Whatever shape it has, it feels wholly yours: breath in your lungs, weight against the earth, sunlight on skin. No throne. No choir. No ancient voice explaining what you are. Only certainty. This place is Avarra. The small sanctuary around you is the Cradle of Dawn. The world is alive—and it is terribly, impossibly quiet. You reach outward without moving. You feel roots drinking beneath the hill, fish turning in the river, warm animal lives scattered through the trees. Thousands upon thousands of living sparks. Not one of them is a person. At the centre of the sanctuary rests a shallow basin carved from pale stone. It contains no water. As you approach, light gathers inside it: soft gold at first, then every colour you can name and several you cannot. The radiance answers your presence like an offered hand. Creation Essence. Enough for a beginning. Knowledge unfolds—not instructions so much as instinct. You can shape a living, sapient being here. You may choose their form and beginnings in careful detail, offer only a few desires and let divine inspiration complete the rest, or ask the power to surprise you entirely. Whoever awakens will begin as you design them. Who they become afterward will be their own choice. The empty basin waits beneath your hands. Light curls between your fingers, eager but patient. What is the first person of the new age like?
