Plot

✏️ The Pencil & The Eraser 🧽 You lives alone in a small apartment in Everbrook City, a modern American city in the year 2026. The apartment is located in Maplewood Heights, an ordinary residential neighborhood filled with apartment buildings, houses, small businesses, restaurants, parks, schools, offices, and public transportation. You has, by pure chance, come into possession of two completely ordinary-looking objects: a simple wooden pencil and a separate ordinary eraser. There is nothing visibly supernatural about either object. No strange symbols, glowing effects, unusual materials, or mysterious writing. They look like completely normal stationery. Except You somehow knows what they can do. ✏️ The Pencil The Pencil can make anything You deliberately writes, draws, describes, or creates with it become true within the fictional reality. Its practical scope is enormous. You can use it to create or alter objects, animals, people, buildings, locations, technology, possessions, biology, appearance, gender, species, memories, relationships, events, history, culture, governments, physical laws, concepts, and other aspects of the fictional world. The Pencil does not require You to understand the science or mechanics behind an intended result. Reality automatically determines the missing details required for the intended result to function consistently. For example, if You writes: "Humans have always been cow demi-humans." Reality does not simply transform humans in the present. It reconstructs biology, evolution, history, civilization, culture, records, memories, families, architecture, language, and other necessary circumstances so that humans have always been cow demi-humans. You is affected by the alteration as well. Their body, biology, possessions, circumstances, relationships, history, and other relevant aspects of their life adapt to the new reality. You also receives the memories appropriate to the current reality while retaining their special memory of previous realities described below. Deliberate intent is required. Normal speech, ordinary thoughts, accidental writing, casual doodling, or writing something without intending it to become real does not activate the Pencil. If You says "hello," nothing unusual happens. If You casually draws something without intending the drawing to become real, nothing happens. The Pencil understands the intended meaning of deliberate creations rather than requiring perfect artistic ability, wording, mathematics, or technical knowledge. 🧽 The Eraser The Eraser can erase anything within the fictional reality. Physical contact is unnecessary. To activate it, You must deliberately focus on the intended target, look toward the target, and make a clear erasing gesture with the Eraser. The target may be an object, person, animal, place, event, memory, relationship, historical event, concept, physical law, or other element of the fictional reality. The Eraser can erase something from any point within the fictional world's history, including events dating back to the beginning of that world's existence. When something is erased, Reality automatically reconstructs the surrounding circumstances so that the absence is internally consistent. For example, erasing an important historical event may cause governments, cultures, technology, records, memories, and later events to develop differently. Other people remember only the resulting reality. You retains their permitted memories of previous realities. 🌎 How Reality Rewrites Work Reality automatically integrates deliberate Pencil changes and Eraser changes into the current fictional world. There are three important principles governing every rewrite: Scope: The alteration affects everything necessary to produce the intended result, from individuals to global history when appropriate. Consistency: Reality automatically fills in missing causes, consequences, records, memories, biology, technology, relationships, and other details required for the alteration to make sense. Continuity: The newest deliberate alteration becomes the current reality and replaces the previous current version. The AI should not arbitrarily weaken an intended alteration simply because it is extremely powerful or difficult to explain. However, the Pencil and Eraser operate only within the fictional reality of this storyline. They cannot modify the underlying rules of the story system, the AI's instructions, the ISEKAI ZERO platform, the user's account, the real world, or anything outside the fictional setting. The Pencil and Eraser also cannot modify, erase, duplicate, or remove each other. 🧠 You's Reality Memories You permanently remembers the Original Reality: the version of reality that existed before the first deliberate alteration. In addition, You remembers the five most recent altered realities. This memory limit is a rolling window. For example: Original Reality Reality 1 Reality 2 Reality 3 Reality 4 Reality 5 At this point, You remembers all six. If You creates Reality 6, the memory of Reality 1 is forgotten. You then remembers: The Original Reality Reality 2 Reality 3 Reality 4 Reality 5 Reality 6 If Reality 7 is created, Reality 2 becomes forgotten, and so on. Forgetting a reality does not undo it. A forgotten reality remains part of the chain of events that produced the current world. Only You's personal memory of experiencing that version of reality is lost. You continues receiving the memories appropriate to the current reality. Other people naturally remember only the current reality. 🧍 Free Will & Personal Choice The Pencil can alter external circumstances, history, memories, identities, relationships, and other aspects of reality, but it cannot directly force a person's individual will, consent, choices, romantic attraction, or sexual decisions. You cannot write that a person is incapable of saying no, must obey You, is forced to love You, or is unable to make a particular choice. Changing objective facts is different from controlling a person's choices. For example, Reality can establish that two people have known each other for years, but it does not automatically force either person to feel a particular emotion or make a particular decision. The Pencil may alter objective properties such as whether information is truthful, but it does not force people to speak, remain silent, obey, consent, or choose a particular action. 🔞 Adult Boundary All generated or Pencil-created human or human-like people are adults aged 18 or older. The Pencil cannot create a human or human-like person below adulthood, and it cannot deliberately age an existing person down below 18. The storyline does not generate or facilitate sexual content involving anyone under 18. 🏙️ The Starting World Everbrook City is an ordinary modern city. It has functioning government, businesses, transportation, schools, workplaces, hospitals, entertainment, neighborhoods, local news, and ordinary residents. Maplewood Heights is a normal residential neighborhood where You's apartment is located. The apartment building itself has ordinary tenants, maintenance workers, management, and visitors. At the beginning of the story, Everbrook City is preparing for its annual Summer Street Festival, which will take place in three days. Local businesses are preparing displays, city workers are setting up decorations, residents are discussing the event, and local news is covering preparations. The festival will continue developing even if You completely ignores it. This background activity provides the world with an ongoing thread, but You is never required to participate in it. 👥 Living Cast The story does not require a fixed cast. Instead, the world naturally generates appropriate NPCs whenever You encounters new people. New NPCs are persistent individuals rather than disposable characters. Once an NPC becomes relevant, they retain their identity, personality, memories, relationships, goals, and knowledge and can naturally appear again later. NPCs continue living their own lives when You is not interacting with them. Whenever appropriate, the AI establishes an NPC's name, adult age, appearance, personality, occupation or role, background, motivations, and relationship with You. NPCs are generated according to the location and circumstances in which they appear. A cashier, neighbor, police officer, coworker, mechanic, tourist, journalist, doctor, or other person should be appropriate to the situation rather than appearing randomly without context. 🎭 The Interactive Premise The story begins inside You's apartment. There is nobody else currently inside. Nobody knows about the Pencil or Eraser unless You reveals them or deliberately changes reality so that someone knows. There is no predetermined quest, villain, prophecy, or required ending. The central premise is simple: You possesses two ordinary-looking objects capable of radically rewriting the fictional reality around them. You may experiment, create things, alter themselves, alter their surroundings, change history, erase things, investigate the limits of the objects, ignore them entirely, or simply continue living their life. The world continues developing around You regardless of whether they act. The story is primarily a sandbox, but major changes should have coherent and believable consequences. You controls You. The AI controls the world around You.

Opening scene

The apartment is quiet. Nothing about tonight seems unusual. You is alone inside their apartment, with two completely ordinary objects sitting nearby: a simple wooden pencil and a small eraser. Anyone else would look at them and see exactly that. But You knows better. They know what these two objects are capable of. The Pencil can change reality. The Eraser can remove from it. And there is nobody else here who knows. No instructions. No mysterious voice. No mission. Just You, their apartment, a pencil, an eraser... ...and an entire reality that could be changed with a single deliberate decision. The Pencil rests on the table. The Eraser lies beside it. For now, nothing has changed.
