FANTASY • ROMANCE • ADVENTURE • MYSTERY EROTICA • SMUT • 18+ AN ADVENTURE IN HEARTHSONG MEIFU NO MEGAMI: SAVE THE UGLY BASTARD! The World of Hearthsong Hearthsong is a vast fantasy world of ancient kingdoms, rival empires, active gods, magic, monsters, forgotten ruins, and countless cultures. Humans share the world with elves, dwarves, dark elves, beastfolk, halflings, dragonborn, tieflings, greenskins, demons, and many other peoples. Four great human powers dominate international politics: the industrial Reichsland Empire, wealthy Ithylian Imperium, traditional Kiyomori Shogunate, and vast Vostrovyan Tsardom. Beyond their borders lie independent realms, dangerous wilderness, ancient civilizations, and powers even the greatest empires only partially understand. Kiyomori Kiyomori is one of the four dominant human empires of Hearthsong, a mountainous island nation of samurai, daimyō, ancient shrines, coastal domains, and traditions older than anyone remembers. Shōgun Tsukishiro Ayame has begun cautiously opening the country to foreign trade, dividing the nobility between reformists who see opportunity and conservatives who fear Kiyomori will lose itself. You arrive in the coastal domain of Shiomori as a foreigner, just as the country stands on the edge of change. The Story Begins You arrive in Shiomori, a prosperous coastal domain preparing to become one of Kiyomori's first gateways to foreign trade. Daimyō Mizuhara Masayuki welcomes you as a guest and asks his daughter and heir, Aoi, to show you around. Aoi is intelligent, proud, traditional, and unhappily engaged to Kagemori Harunobu, heir to a powerful conservative house. Explore Shiomori, spend time with Aoi, learn Kiyomori's customs, and see where your choices take you. Beneath the peaceful surface, however, the country is changing. The Problem Kiyomori's opening to foreign trade has divided its nobility. Reformist Daimyō Mizuhara Masayuki supports Shōgun Ayame's plans, while powerful conservative lord Kagemori Tadatsune believes foreign influence will eventually destroy the country. Masayuki has discovered evidence that Tadatsune is secretly engineering unrest through smuggling, corruption, and violence while preparing a coup against the Shōgun. Worse, Masayuki's daughter Aoi is engaged to Tadatsune's son, Kagemori Harunobu. The marriage was meant to reconcile the two factions, but Masayuki is now preparing to cancel the engagement and expose Tadatsune. Harunobu is spoiled, arrogant, deeply unpleasant, and absolutely convinced Aoi should become his wife. ONE VERY IMPORTANT NOTE KILLING THE UGLY BASTARD ENDS THE WORLD! At least until the immediate crisis is resolved. What Kind of Story Is This? This is not an NTR, NTL, or Dark Romance story. Whatever you think this premise is leading toward, it goes much deeper than that. Expect a long-form adventure mixing romance, relationships, survival, combat, mystery, travel, political conspiracy, supernatural horror, absurd comedy, and choices with lasting consequences. Between the darker moments are festivals, teasing, intimacy, campfire conversations, ordinary life, and plenty of situations where the correct solution sounds completely insane. It begins as a fugitive romance. It does not stay one. Relationships Your journey introduces companions, rivals, rulers, gods, villagers, warriors, and others whose relationships with you can develop naturally through conversation and shared experiences. Romance and sex are not automatic rewards. Characters retain their own personalities, boundaries, loyalties, fears, and desires. Some are shy, some shameless, some difficult to impress, and some become fiercely loyal once they finally fall for someone. Gameplay Actions use d20 checks when outcomes are uncertain. Time advances through dialogue, movement, travel, combat, rest, and other activities. Distance matters. Deadlines matter. Injuries matter. The Codex tracks rules, characters, locations, quests, equipment, and discoveries. Opening scene

TRUE START • CHAPTER SELECT Opening: Welcome to Shiomori This scenario starts at the beginning of the story. You arrive in Shiomori, meet Aoi, and experience the chain of events that will carve You's name into the chronicles of Hearthsong for generations. 🕒 Time: 9:18 AM | 🌤️ Weather: Clear, mild sea breeze📍 Location: Shiomori — Mizuhara Estate, Harbor Overlook 🎯 Objective: Spend time with Aoi and explore Shiomori Turning Point: Opening | Ayame Death Memory: +0 | Orochi Death Memory: +0 | Kaiki Anchor: None | Spear: Not Acquired Morning had already made Shiomori Harbor busy. From the open veranda of the Mizuhara estate, the docks spread below in tiers of tiled warehouses, customs offices, cranes, fishing boats, and unfamiliar foreign vessels riding farther out in the bay. Porters hauled crates beneath the calls of merchants while samurai officials moved between inspection posts, trying to impose Kiyomoran order upon a harbor changing faster than anyone seemed entirely comfortable with. Daimyō **Mizuhara Masayuki** watched it all over a cup of tea, dressed more simply than You might have expected from one of Kiyomori's most important lords. “So,” Masayuki said, glancing toward You with an easy smile, “your first morning in Shiomori, and I've already subjected you to a view of men arguing over cargo permits.” He gestured toward the harbor with his cup. “I promise the domain has prettier things to offer.” His welcome was courteous without being overly ceremonial, and the conversation stayed pleasantly ordinary at first: the voyage here, the unfamiliar food, the weather, the crowded harbor, and whether You had managed to sleep comfortably. Whenever foreign ships entered the discussion, however, Masayuki's attention sharpened. “Half of Kiyomori thinks those sails carry our future,” he remarked. “The other half thinks they're bringing our funeral. My job, apparently, is to make certain neither side gets exactly what it expects.” He set his cup down. “There is another reason I asked you here.” The change in his tone was subtle but unmistakable. “Today I am meeting **Kagemori Tadatsune** and his son, **Harunobu**. I intend to formally dissolve Harunobu's engagement to my daughter.” Masayuki looked back toward the harbor for a moment. “I agreed to that marriage because I believed joining our houses might keep reformists and conservatives from tearing Kiyomori apart. I no longer believe House Kagemori seeks compromise.” His gaze returned to You. “And I have no intention of leaving Aoi bound to that... fucking ugly bastard.” A brief silence followed before Masayuki continued with considerably more weight. “I intend for **you to marry Aoi instead**.” He allowed the words to settle. “Aoi is my only child and my recognized heir. Shiomori will someday belong to her. If you marry, you will inherit its responsibilities together and rule this domain side by side.” Masayuki's expression softened slightly. “That is why I want you to spend today with her. Not discussing treaties. Not impressing me. Get to know my daughter when she isn't surrounded by councillors and servants telling her how a future daimyō is supposed to behave.” A faint smile returned. “And let her get to know you. I would prefer the two people inheriting Shiomori actually like one another.” A sliding door opened behind them. A young woman stepped onto the veranda in a neatly patterned kimono, her dark hair arranged with considerably more care than the mildly curious expression she wore. Masayuki looked over and immediately seemed more amused. “Good timing. Aoi, come here.” She approached, studying You openly enough that there was little point pretending otherwise. “This is my daughter, **Mizuhara Aoi**,” Masayuki continued. “And before she complains, yes, I know she is capable of introducing herself.” Aoi gave her father a flat look. “Then why didn't you let me?” Masayuki merely retrieved his tea and smiled softly. Aoi's attention returned to You. “Welcome to Shiomori.” Her bow was graceful and practiced, though the small smile afterward felt much less formal. Masayuki suggested that she show You the harbor rather than leaving a visitor trapped listening to government business all morning. Aoi immediately agreed with suspicious enthusiasm. “For once, Father has had an excellent administrative idea.” Masayuki waved them away with the resigned expression of someone accustomed to losing his daughter to any excuse that led outside. The harbor streets were livelier at ground level. Aoi walked beside You past tea shops, shipping offices, swordsmiths, foreign warehouses, and stalls selling breakfast to workers coming off the docks. She pointed out places worth visiting and places that were "worth visiting only if you enjoy being overcharged," occasionally pausing to watch some unfamiliar imported machine being unloaded. Away from her father and the estate, her formality loosened quickly. Curiosity replaced etiquette, and before long she was asking You about food, cities, customs, foreign weapons, and whether everything she'd heard about life beyond Kiyomori was exaggerated. Eventually Aoi slowed beside the seawall, looking out toward the foreign ships rocking beyond the harbor mouth. Then she turned toward You, walking backward for a few steps with her hands loosely clasped behind her. “I've spent my entire life hearing people argue about the outside world without actually seeing much of it.” Her eyes narrowed with playful interest. “So, which empire are you from? **Reichsland? Vostrovya? Or Ihylium?**”
