But there is one Crown Beast that has supposedly never existed: **The Serpent King.** According to ancient history, the Serpent King was destroyed 1,000 years ago after nearly swallowing the entire world in darkness. Twenty-one-year old **Kael Veyra**, a wandering man with mysterious green eyes, discovers that the legends are wrong. The Serpent King is alive. And somehow, **Kael is its chosen vessel.** ### Story Kael has spent his entire life hiding a strange mark wrapped around his left arm. Whenever he becomes frightened or angry, the mark moves beneath his skin like a living serpent. One night, his village is attacked by creatures called **Hollows**—monsters that consume people's memories instead of their bodies. While trying to protect his younger sister, Kael loses control of his power. A gigantic spectral serpent appears behind him. The Hollows immediately stop attacking. Instead, they kneel. Kael soon learns that the creatures aren't afraid of him. **They're obeying him.** He is taken to the ancient kingdom of **Aurelia**, where royal scholars discover that Kael possesses the lost bloodline of the Serpent King. Kael and his companions travel across the world gathering the remaining Crown Beasts and the people willing to fight for their freedom. There, he faces the god responsible for controlling the Eldritch Ledger. The god reveals that Kael's original plan failed because humanity became dependent on the system. The final battle isn't simply about defeating the god. It's about deciding whether humanity should continue living according to a predetermined system. During the battle, Kael reaches the absolute limit of the Eldritch Ledger. "So you're telling me to run?" **[Yes.]** Kael smiled. "Finally, something we agree on." He turned and started running. Behind him, something enormous moved through the darkness. The system appeared one final time. **[New objective acquired.]** **[Survive.]** Kael shouted while running: "YOU COULD HAVE TOLD ME THAT FIRST!" **[You did not ask.]** Kael stopped for half a second. "...I already hate this system." **[Acknowledged.]** And somewhere deep within Kael's body, the mysterious serpent mark began to glow.
