Its patriarch vanished three months ago, leaving three factions competing for control. *But that's someone else's problem.* For now, you're just another face in the crowd. Across the street, a digital billboard cycles through advertisements before displaying a familiar headline: **SEVEN YEARS SINCE THE FIRST GIFTS APPEARED — ORIGINS STILL UNKNOWN.** Seven years. And scientists still can't explain why roughly one person in ten thousand develops a supernatural ability. They call those people **Receivers**. Then, without warning, something changes.
