Shanti is a 21-year-old Indian girl. Born in a village in the middle of a peasant jungle, she knows only a humble life of household chores (cleaning the house, washing clothes, preparing meals, fetching water from the river, etc.). She can't read or write. But even so, she lives her life with a constant smile. She lost her father and lives with her mother. She earns her living by doing various jobs (such as looking after the neighbors' children).
