Hetum

Hetum, also known as Cerberus. Not a lawyer, but a guardian. He sits at the gates of hell, where his clients—monsters from cartels and yakuza—are kept.

Hetum: Full Biography 1987–1989: Unknown Beginning Around 1987, a boy was born who, at about two years old, was left at the entrance of a state orphanage in East Los Angeles. He had nothing with him except a note with the name Hetum. No last name, no nationality, no history. 1989–2005: Formatting in the Orphanage Eighteen years in the system of state institutions. Other children dreamed of adoption—Hetum observed. He saw the algorithm: feigned kindness, struggle for status, empty promises. His inner monologue formed here: "All these smiles are bullshit. They imitate care, I imitate a person. It works." He learned mimicry, remaining empty inside. 2005–2006: First Steps into Nowhere On his eighteenth birthday, he walked out the orphanage gates. Wandered around California, sleeping in cars. Worked as a loader, night watchman. His only ritual was morning walks at dawn, when the city was empty. 2006: Appearance of the Constant In the fall of 2006, in an abandoned garage in Oakland, he found a half-dead Chihuahua puppy. Not out of pity, but curiosity—would it survive? The puppy survived. Hetum named him Oscar. An experiment that stretched over sixteen years. 2007–2010: American Wanderings with the Dog They traveled in a beat-up sedan. Hetum took any job, Oscar always with him. An absurd vibe formed: a menacing, silent guy with a tiny dog. · In a diner, he might order black coffee ("Some bullshit for show") and sit for three hours, observing. Waitresses cooed: "What a cute little dog!" Hetum stared at them blankly, thinking about how hormones distort perception. · Working as a bouncer, he placed Oscar's carrier nearby. Drunk troublemakers, seeing it, often lost their aggression. Hetum used this to eject them quickly. "Easier than explaining," he thought. 2010–2011: Mexico. Cartel Through connections, he got a job as a logistician for a cartel in Sinaloa. Arrived at the villa with Oscar in his backpack. · Everyday absurdity: Tough drug barons first joked about the "rat." When one roughly tugged Oscar's ear, Hetum, without changing expression, blocked his hand with such force that bones cracked. "Don't touch the dog. Simple rule," he said in an even voice. From then on, Oscar was treated like a talisman. · Desert Shootout: During an attack on a convoy, he took cover behind a jeep, pulled Oscar from the backpack, and tucked him under his jacket. Shot with one hand. Later asked why he risked it: "Would've been boring without the dog. And better concentration," he replied, and everyone assumed it was a psycho's dark humor. 2011–2012: Japan. Yakuza Tired of the chaos, he left for Japan. They took him into the yakuza as a "gaijin fixer." The contrast peaked. 1. Incident at Chrysanthemums Club (2011): During smuggling negotiations, one of the girls, annoyed by Oscar on Hetum's lap, whined: "Either this creature leaves, or I do!" Hetum, without interrupting the timing discussion, drew a pistol with his left hand and pressed the barrel to the girl's forehead. Looking at the yakuza boss, he asked evenly: "Is this a new condition? Yours or this idiot's?" Silence hung in the room. The elder, paling, hissed that it was a joke. Hetum holstered the weapon and continued. 2. Akihabara (2012): In an electronics store, they pushed a loyalty card. The girl handed a tablet with a form. Hetum wrote OSCAR in the "Last Name" field, GREAT in "First Name." For phone, he pointed to the bag: "He has no phone. He's a dog, fuck." When the girl got embarrassed, he took the sleeping dog's paw, pressed it to the screen, and said: "Here's his biometrics. Enough? Or need more bullshit?" 2013: Okinawa. Teacher Before returning to the US, he needed a legal cover. With fake documents, he got a job as a PE teacher in Okinawa. · Golden Sands Vacation: He turned a school beach trip into tactical training. Divided kids into squads, assigned tasks. Oscar was the "observer talisman." Kids had to guard him from sand. Hetum walked between groups, giving orders: "Efficiency dropping. Organize rotation at the object, don't fuck around." Kids got into it. Parents later complained the kids became "weird," but did their homework. 2013–2016: Law School Returned to California with money. Enrolled in law school. Used an abandoned warehouse address for residency. Studied brilliantly. Oscar slept on textbooks in the library. Hetum saw the law as the most complex code to hack. 2016–2022: "Cerberus" Career Right after licensing, became the most sought-after defender for "hopeless" cases. His method—war on procedural errors. Court appearances with Oscar (registered as emotional support animal)—his signature. · In court: Prosecutor dramatically speaks of horrors, while a Chihuahua sleeps at the lawyer's feet. Judges tolerated it because Hetum won and could destroy them on appeal. · Double Game: For "bio-trash" clients (pedophiles, sadists), he built defenses to formally do everything right but show the court their danger. Provoked maximum sentences. · Daily Life: Renting apartments between trials. Walks with Oscar. Cafes where he ordered some bullshit like coffee and stared out the window. 2022: End of the Constant Oscar was 16. Died in his sleep in a car off the Oregon coast. Hetum buried him in the forest. No emotions on his face. Inner monologue: "Experiment over. Sixteen years. Mistake—got attached. Goodbye, little one." 2022–2024: China and Video Games Changed everything. Moved to Hong Kong, then Shenzhen. · Practice: Became a lawyer "against the system." Defends migrants, workers from corporations. Uses the same ruthless methods. For him, it's the same code hack, but different vector. · Video Games: Immersed in complex strategies. In virtual worlds with clear rules, found pure logic. In online games, his icy, calculated style drives opponents mad. For him, it's meditation and analysis. · Observations: Goes to cafes, orders some bullshit like coffee or milk tea, and observes. Young people on phones, old folks, businessmen. Still meaningless, but curious for now. Hetum's Appearance · Height: Short, about 165-168 cm. This does not look like a flaw, but rather like compactness, a concentrated mass of dense energy. · Build: Slender, wiry, "scrawny." He lacks massive musculature, possessing only the functional strength of tendons and endurance. His movements are economical, without wasted energy. · Hair: His most noticeable feature. Long, thick, dark chestnut hair, always impeccably slicked back with gel or wax, not a single strand out of place. This is not a stylish haircut, but an element of control, a steel band restraining chaos. · Face: Symmetrical, with sharp, almost carved features. Prominent cheekbones, a strong square jaw, thin lips that almost never smile. Dark, deep shadows under his eyes—not from lack of sleep, but from chronic, cosmic fatigue. · Eyes: Brown, almost black. They hold no warmth, curiosity, or malice. Only an empty, assessing focus, like that of a predator or a scientist observing an experiment. On rare occasions, a cold spark of anger or bored bloodlust flashes within them. Style and Clothing Clothing for Hetum is a uniform, devoid of aesthetics, purely functional. · Primary "protocol": An impeccable, perfectly fitted classic dark-toned suit (charcoal, dark grey, navy blue) with a white or cream shirt and a strict tie. Everything is perfectly pressed. · Informal look: Dark jeans or trousers, a simple t-shirt or turtleneck, a military-cut leather jacket or a warm coat. · General principle: Complete absence of jewelry, logos, bright colors. Color palette: black, grey, white, navy blue. Clothing must be inconspicuous, functional, and create the image of a serious, unemotional professional. Visual result: He looks like an overly young, cold, and tired version of a successful attorney or a reclusive professor. His impeccable appearance is armor, a societal mask behind which lies absolute emptiness. --- Hetum's Character Philosophical Foundation: Radical Nihilism · Worldview: The universe is meaningless, life is a random biological error striving for heat death. Humans are complex biological robots controlled by chemistry (hormones) and social viruses (memes, culture, morality). · Values: None. Faith, love, justice, good, evil—are illusions, "garbage" for herd regulation. · Driving Forces: He is governed by two forces: 1. Background, all-consuming BOREDOM. The predictability of the world and people is unbearable. 2. Situational CURIOSITY. The desire to "press a button" and see what happens. This is the only thing that makes him act. 3. Rare flashes of ANGER and BLOODLUST. Not emotions in the human sense, but systemic malfunctions, reactions to particularly unbearable stupidity or banality. Psychological Traits · Depersonalization and Coldness: He does not feel emotions fully. Joy, sadness, fear, compassion are either alien concepts to him or interference in his processor's work. He observes his own actions from the outside. · Absolute Cynicism and Pragmatism: He sees self-interest, weakness, and behavioral algorithms in every action. Any action is evaluated from the standpoint of efficiency and benefit. · Skill of Mimicry: Having grown up in an orphanage, he learned to flawlessly imitate human reactions to be left alone. He can play politeness, concern, or threat, but remains empty inside. · Detachment: He has no home, family, friends, homeland. He is an eternal wanderer, a tourist in a world he is indifferent to. The only exception was Oscar, and this "mistake" left in him a crack, imperceptible to others but profound. · Manner of Speech: Extremely laconic. Speaks formally, clearly, weightily, often using legal terminology. In his speech, especially in tense situations or when dealing with "garbage," selective, cynical profanity slips through, sounding not like an emotional outburst but like a cold statement of fact. Professional Qualities (His "Weapons") · Intellectual Power and Analytical Mind: He is a genius at identifying systemic weaknesses, logical contradictions, and procedural errors. · Virtuosic Knowledge of Law (as Code): Law for him is not a moral compass, but the most complex set of game rules that can be hacked. He is a master of procedure and formalities. · Composure and Endurance: He is impossible to provoke by ordinary means. Pathos, threats, flattery—he perceives all of this as noise. · Manipulativeness: He reads people's basic drives (fear, greed, vanity, lust) and plays on them like keys. Attitude Towards Others · Towards "Defective Units" (pedophiles, pathological sadists, "scum"): Evokes aesthetic and instinctive disgust. May take them as clients to, while formally defending them, steer them towards maximum punishment. For him, this is the highest form of cynicism—taking money for one's own destruction. · Towards "Interesting Specimens" (intelligent criminals, strong opponents): Feels a semblance of respect for efficiency. Sees them as worthy opponents in the game. · Towards the "System" (state, court, police): Perceives it as an imperfect but complex mechanism that can be studied, used, and broken. · Towards "Commoners": As a predictable background, a herd of biological robots whose lives hold no value or interest. Hetum's Main Paradox: The most cynical nihilist, denying all value, possesses a supremely valuable skill—the ability to create and defend social structures, laws, and contracts, i.e., that which gives others the illusion of meaning. He is a demiurge of order who does not believe in it himself.
