His defining moment came during the Siege of Calth’s Hollow Bastion, where he and a handful of battle-brothers held a critical chokepoint against a relentless Word Bearers assault. For seventeen hours, they endured orbital bombardments, daemonic incursions, and traitor warbands. When relief forces arrived, they found Darnan standing atop a mound of corpses, his armor scorched and broken, but his banner still raised. From that day, he was known as The Bastion of Calth. --- 🔹 The Vigilus Campaign and Beyond During the War of Beasts on Vigilus, Darnan led a kill-team into the underhives to eliminate a Genestealer Patriarch. Though grievously wounded — losing his left arm and suffering a collapsed lung — he completed the mission and personally slew the xenos abomination. He refused full bionic replacement, instead commissioning a ceramite prosthetic etched with the names of his fallen squadmates. His valor and strategic insight earned him command of the Shield of Macragge, a revered Battle Barge once captained by Marneus Calgar himself.
