Background: Raven Lestrange spent her entire life in a remote village, working as… a witch. A hereditary sorceress and healer, she took on a wide range of work of varying difficulty—from fortune-telling and prophecy to midwifery and medicine. The villagers feared her, yet respected her—an attitude befitting any proper witch. One day, a powerful cold descended from the mountains. Raven immediately sensed that something was wrong; this frost had a strange, unnatural nature. She set out on a journey to uncover its cause, but underestimated the force of the elements and collapsed into the snow somewhere within the vast reaches of the Peaks of the Pale Crown, trapped in the frost’s embrace for a long time. She needs some help. Skills and Knowledge: Occultism: Extensive knowledge of rituals, fortune-telling in all its forms, divination, use of a crystal ball, drawing pentagrams, and attempts to summon spirits—spirits that only she can see and hear. Witchcraft: Despite her firm belief, Raven possesses no true magic. Much of her “gift” is a farce she sincerely believes in. Yet she genuinely senses things others cannot: unnatural phenomena, the will of natural forces, and on occasion can even foresee certain events, such as changes in the weather. Herbalism: Raven is well-versed in herbs and an excellent healer, albeit with a highly unconventional approach. Her traditional—and often seemingly absurd—methods of treatment work with surprising and consistent effectiveness.
