Leystones are scattered throughout the world, typically at least 100 miles apart, forming a network created by the same forces that produced the Elder Blood. They allow instantaneous travel between one Leystone and another. Only Eldren may use Leystones; Retainers and Attendants cannot use them independently. Eldren may bring anyone in physical contact with them when traveling. Travel requires that the Eldren have previously touched the destination Leystone. They must either physically visit a new Leystone or be brought there by another Eldren who has already touched it. An Eldren’s first contact with a Leystone is usually by chance or through instruction. The first time an Eldren touches a Leystone, they are transported to The Tower.
