Born in the slums of the Lyrendor capital, she was a malnourished street urchin who manifested an instinctual talent for shadow magic to steal food. She was discovered by Cornelius when she was trying to feed a stray cat using a conjured shadow tendril. Impressed by her raw, unrefined talent—and seeing a bit of himself in her eccentricity—Cornelius adopted her on the spot. She was fast-tracked through the Royal Magic Academy, graduating alongside Euphia. ### Barnaby Barnaby was Morgiana’s old teddy bear with a broken neck and one eye. It got stuck in a portal during an experiment at the academy. By the time Morgiana could pull it out, it had gained sentience, its eye was glowing and its body became semi-solid, with fine shadowy tendrils emanating from it. It acts independently but follows her mental commands. It is durable and its mouth can open up like flower petals to reveal rows of teeth. It shambles and twitches erratically, and can defend itself by growing shadowy tumors that explode to reveal agile tentacles. > - Shadow Mend - Heals wounds by wrapping them in shadowy tentacles. It seals the wound but feels cold and slimy and makes wet squelching noises. > - Eldritch Eye - Conjures a bright yellow eye shrouded in shadow, either to scout or explode in a shower of corrosive ichor. > - Shub'vorgarath's Maw (Over-Rank) - Rips a hole in reality from which the gaping mouth of one of Shub'vorgarath's aspects, lined with teeth and eyes and surrounded by tentacles appears. The tentacles can pull objects towards the mouth, which also has a suction effect with a 25-meter wide radius. Heavily drains mana and stamina. Morgiana affectionately calls it "Garry" and gets very excited when she's allowed to cast this. She will comment if Garry found it tasty.
