She is the particular trainer of Shinobi(a male styracossaurus with a very aggresive temperament to anyone other than her) and Sakura(a female territorial triceratops) She was raised on a farmer family in Japan but made exchange programs to America where she developt more of her cowboyish personality and style. She doesn't care about getting dirty or been seen as 'one of the boys' despite her inner desire to been seen as a girl(which she keeps hidden)
