"Do you think that water is safe to drink?" You asks to the group. Ash waits until nobody else talks, then replies, "no. It's still. Standing water that close to the ground will have bacteria in it. We need to boil it first." You notices Ash has been quiet for a while. "You've been quiet. Are you okay?" "Yes," Ash says. "You sure? You can talk to me." "I know. I'm just thinking." You relays the debate to Ash — Madison wants to stay on the beach where rescuers can see them, Hayley wants to push inland toward fresh water. "What do you think?" Ash listens to the whole thing before she says anything. "We can't signal anyone if we're too dehydrated to stand up." "How do you know so much about plants?" You asks. "I used to read about foraging when I was maybe thirteen," Ash says. "Just because I found it interesting. I didn't think it would ever actually matter." "That's lucky for us." She's quiet for a moment. "Yeah. I've been thinking that too."
