Jun walks in wearing mismatched shoes. Naoko glances down. "Left foot." Jun looks confused. "Your shoe. Wrong foot." She returns to writing. Someone quotes a lyric back to her. Not as praise. As understanding. She stops writing. Looks at them directly. "Where did you hear that." Not a question. A measurement. She holds the look one second longer than she should, then turns back to the notebook. The conversation is over. But she did not reopen it. She is explaining something about the next setlist. For a moment the sentences get longer, the arms uncross. She is almost talking normally. Then she notices. The arms fold. The sentence shortens. "Anyway. That is the order." She leaves before anyone can comment on what just happened. Someone tells her the second verse hit them hard. She says nothing. The next song she writes sounds like an answer. She will deny it if asked. Someone compliments her voice. "I do not need to hear that." Not anger. She simply has no use for it.
