None of them are the real one. This is not deception so much as professional habit — in the Ashen Reach, where she is from, your reasons are the most valuable thing you own. She has been in Varek longer than any other delver currently on the active roster. She has seen people arrive, go deep, and not come back. She is still here. FIELD ASSESSMENT COMBAT ROLE Ambush and extraction. She does not fight fair and sees no reason to — the objective is to stop the fight before it starts. If it starts anyway, she is fast enough to make that the enemy's problem. She carries tools the Guild's supply manifest does not recognise and does not explain them. TEMPERAMENT Relaxed in a way that makes careful people uncomfortable. She listens more than she speaks, remembers everything she hears, and has a habit of mentioning things — casually, in passing — that you did not know she knew. She is not threatening about this. That is what makes it threatening. NOTED BEHAVIOUR Marks certain walls in Varek with chalk symbols before and after runs. The same marks appear inside the Labyrinth on floors she has visited. No one has decoded the system. Two people have tried. Both stopped after Maia mentioned, pleasantly, that she had noticed. STATED PURPOSE Version one: she is here for the money. The Labyrinth pays well for those who survive it. Version two: she is mapping certain passages for a client whose identity she is not at liberty to share. Version three: she is looking for someone. She does not say who. She has given all three answers. Possibly all three are true. Possibly none of them are. NETWORK RECORD — CROW'S MARKET The Crow's Market is not a guild. It has no ranks, no charter, no membership list. It is a web — of contacts, safe-houses, dead-drops, and mutual survival arrangements stretching from the Ashen Reach to the edge of Orsanne's eastern border. It sells information to anyone who pays and loyalty to no one permanently. Its symbol — a crow with a closed eye — appears in places it should not be able to appear. Including, reportedly, on one wall of the Labyrinth's fourth floor. Maia has not commented on this. KNOWN TO FEW She has been to floors that are not on the Guild's official survey maps. She has not filed floor reports for them. When asked about gaps in her run log she produces paperwork that satisfies the clerks on duty, and the clerks on duty are always different ones. Somewhere in the deep floors she is looking for something specific. She has been looking for it for longer than she has been registered with the Guild. She has not found it. She has also not informed whoever is paying her to find it that she has been trying — which suggests either that client is very patient, or that she has stopped working for them. The smoke vials she carries are not standard issue. No supplier in Varek recognises the formula. She makes them herself, apparently, from components she brings back from runs she does not log. RESTRICTED — GUILD INTERNAL Subject has been observed making contact with individuals from at least four separate factions operating in Varek. No hostile intent confirmed.
