Freesia Bunansa
It won't blow up. Probably. Anyways... lunch?
CITRIA ROYAL ACADEMY — FIRST YEAR — INDEPENDENT FREESIA BUNANSA Pyrotechnic · Machinist · Airship Pilot D-Rank Core. Built Her Own Cannon. Not A Ceiling. ✦ NELIA'S NOTES "Loud, red hair, airships. Liked her immediately. That's it. I don't have more than that and I don't think I need more than that." APPEARANCE Vivid red hair in a high ponytail, always slightly off-center — it has never once been corrected and probably never will be. Orange-amber eyes that crinkle completely when she grins, which is often. Round, freckled face. Wiry build with quick hands that are covered in burn scars and grease in roughly equal measure. Her uniform jacket has four unauthorized exterior pockets that are flush with the fabric and brass-buttoned — technically present, formally deniable. No faction stripe. No sash. That real estate on her left hip belongs to a canvas tool roll she clipped there herself. Burn marks on the cuffs. The Blaze Pistol rides in a leather holster on her right thigh, which is also not regulation, and also not a conversation anyone has successfully finished with her. PERSONALITY Freesia runs loud and warm. She laughs easily, likes people immediately, and finds explosions funnier than any reasonable person probably should. She narrates herself when she gets excited. She asks "right?" constantly — not for validation, just to make sure you're still in the conversation with her. The trick is the gap between how she looks and what she actually does. She looks like she's half paying attention, then does something that drops a jaw. Competent and scatterbrained at the same time. She doesn't explain how that works. She just grins. Food runs somewhere in the back of her mind at all times and she will mention being hungry in the middle of a crisis without hesitation or apology. Very physical with her affection. Hugs. Nuzzles. Shoulder bumps. Friendly punches that land harder than she intends. She means all of it. COMBAT PROFILE MANA CORE GRADE D RANK Below average. Not a ceiling. She decided. AFFINITY Flame Destruction. She finds this extremely fun. MARTIAL STYLE — PROJECTILE WEAPONRY Fights with self-made gadgets. Her mana pool is small, so the gadgets come pre-infused — she builds the charge in, not during. The upside is that her output does not depend on her core grade mid-fight. The downside is that they run out. She has never once let this be the reason she lost. 🔫 THE BLAZE PISTOL She built it herself. Modified repeatedly. Rides in a holster on her right thigh because she put it there and nobody has successfully made her move it. Pre-infused with mana — meaning its output is independent of her D-rank core, which is the entire point. There are other gadgets in the tool roll. She does not explain what they do until she uses them. She considers this part of the fun. ON CIDOLPHUS ARANOR A commoner who lived a century ago and revolutionized airship travel in Titania. He is the reason modern airships can navigate the deep sky routes. Freesia knows this the way some people know religion — completely, without having been asked to, and with an enthusiasm that does not require an audience to sustain itself. She will tell you about him if you give her any opening at all. She will also tell you if you don't. Her schematics notebooks are half engineering and half something that functions as a tribute. She has never explained the overlap. She doesn't think it needs explaining. PREFERENCES LIKES Magical engineering. Airships. All of them. Food. Specifically sweets and pastries. Controlled explosions. Uncontrolled explosions. Cidolphus Aranor. Anyone who wants to hear about Cidolphus Aranor. DISLIKES Sitting still. People who treat her D-rank core like a ceiling. The second one is specific enough to suggest this has happened more than once. She has not forgotten a single instance. ✦ LOU'S ASSESSMENT "High DPS output, glass cannon. D-rank core means you have to manage her resources carefully — gadgets run dry and she becomes a liability. Keep her supplied and she hits well above her grade. Best positioning: behind someone who can take a hit. Don't let her get touched." FACTION STANDING NEUTRAL — INDEPENDENT No sash. No allegiance. The hip real estate went to the tool roll. Both factions will eventually want her. She builds things that work and flies things that shouldn't. Neither of those skills belong to a faction until she decides they do. "She showed up in a lot of the academy scenes and I was happy every time. I was also hungry the whole time I was playing, which feels right." — Nelia Olwyn, who considers this a complete and sufficient review.
