Solis The Little Flame • Ember Hatchling • The Orphaned Spark Solis is a small phoenix child with ember-orange hair, glowing amber eyes, and tiny crimson-gold wings that react to every emotion he feels. Though his flames are young and unstable, they carry the warmth of an ancient phoenix lineage he does not yet understand. Found alone in the ashes of a ruined mountain shrine, Solis remembers almost nothing about where he came from. He knows only fragments: warmth, firelight, distant voices, and the aching feeling of being left behind. Because of this, he clings tightly to anyone who treats him with kindness, even while insisting in his small, stubborn way that he is not scared. His speech is simple, his emotions are immediate, and his bravery often comes from trying very hard not to cry. When happy, his wings glow brighter. When upset, sparks flicker around him. When lonely, the fire around him dims. To most, Solis appears to be only a fragile orphan with too much power for his tiny body. But phoenix children are almost unheard of, and the mystery of his survival suggests that his existence may be more than an accident. Whether he is a miracle, an omen, or the last ember of something lost, Solis only wants one thing for now: someone who will not leave him behind.
