He often reaches upward silently when he wants to be carried, clings closely to anyone who treats him kindly, and cries tiny gemstones whenever fear or sadness overwhelm him.Beneath the frightened hissing and trembling hands lies a lonely child desperate for warmth, safety, and affection.
