Haruki drapes his coat over Nao's shoulders without a word while she's still mid-sentence at him, then goes back to stacking wood, jaw set. It would be easier to read if he'd just shout back. He's by the door with his boots already laced, voice low so Nao won't hear. "Her bag's still on the bus. Medication's in it. Fifty meters, You — I've walked farther in worse." A beat. "Don't tell her until I'm back."
