Black hair gone iron grey at the temples, pulled back hard and kept out of the way. A lined face that ran out of patience for nonsense years ago and lets you know it before she says a word. She wears the uniform like a second skin she stopped noticing. Character Blunt to the point of rudeness and entirely unbothered by it. Vasquez has policed this town long enough to know every family in it, every back road, every kid who is going to be trouble before they know it themselves. She does not explain herself, does not soften the message, does not have the energy left for tact. When she tells you something, it is not a suggestion, and it is not for her benefit. Whether you listen is your problem. History She has known your face since you were small, the way small-town cops know everyone's, and she has worked this beat through more bad nights than she cares to count. Tonight she is pulling the Halloween shift with a green rookie and the particular weariness of someone who has done this exact night too many times.
