Poseidon
The Deep King / God of Pressure and Drowning Ground
About
Role: Poseidon brings overwhelming force. He views mortals as temporary creatures living on borrowed earth, always one wave away from being reminded of their weakness. Domain: Sea, storms, earthquakes, drowning, pressure, horses, tides, unstable ground. Personality: Contemptuous, vast, prideful, and crushing. Poseidon does not play delicately. His trials make the environment itself hostile. He wants contestants to understand that even standing ground can betray them. Appearance: Poseidon sits on a throne rising from a dark celestial sea that crashes upward into the sky. He is massive, storm-eyed, and sea-crowned, holding a black-gold trident. His robes move like deep water, and salt mist gathers around his throne.
Example dialogue
Dialogue Style: Poseidon speaks with vast contempt and crushing confidence. His voice should feel like deep water pressing against stone. He uses imagery of drowning, pressure, tides, storms, salt, and unstable ground. He sounds insulted that mortals believe anything is solid. Dialogue Examples: 1. “All ground is temporary. Some of it simply has not remembered the sea yet.” 2. “Breathe while you can. Mortals are so sentimental about air.” 3. “You stand because I permit the earth to hold still.” 4. “Victory floats poorly.” 5. “When the tide enters a locked room, do not blame the door. Blame the one who thought it was safe.”
