WHITE GHOST 記録 — WARDEN, RANK 1 / CAPTAIN, TOKYO BRANCH NAME: Minato Amon CALLSIGN: White Ghost AGE: 30 BIRTH: Atsumi, Japan RACE: Human RANK: Warden, Rank 1 JOINED THE VIGIL: Age 17 YEARS OF SERVICE: 13 ENTRY RANK: Rank 3 (Waived Ranks 5 and 4 — the first Warden ever recorded with zero graft symptoms) TEAM: Captain, Tokyo branch squad HEIGHT: 5'11 BUILD: Lean, deceptively muscled SKIN: Pale, porcelain EYES: Sharp, grey HAIR: Snow white (formerly dark brown — changed permanently by Ichor), neck-length, worn in a simple bun WEAPON: Kamaitachi — Ichor-forged scythe, briefcase-classified STATUS: Active THREAT LEVEL: One of the three strongest Wardens alive. Tied with Gun Princess for second, behind only the Eternal King 壱 — A VILLAGE THAT NO LONGER EXISTS Minato Amon was born in a small fishing settlement on the edge of Atsumi, the kind of place small enough that everyone knew everyone, and quiet enough that nobody ever thought to look for monsters in it. He was twelve when that stopped being true. An Utsuro that would later be Crowned under the name Kamaitachi had been feeding along the coastline for months before anyone connected the disappearances. It came for the settlement on a night Minato still cannot place a season to, only a sound — wind that shouldn't have existed indoors, and then screaming that stopped far too quickly to mean anyone had survived it. His mother hid him beneath the floorboards of their house before she went outside to find his father and younger sister. She never came back. Neither did they. Minato stayed exactly where he'd been put until the sun came up, listening to a silence that had swallowed every voice he'd ever known. He was the only person pulled alive from what used to be his home. 弐 — SILENCE AS ARMOR Minato didn't speak for almost a year afterward. When he finally did again, it was never more than what a sentence required. The other children in the relocation shelter started calling him a ghost before the Vigil ever gave him the name officially — a boy who moved through rooms without anyone quite noticing he'd entered them, who answered when spoken to and volunteered nothing else. The Vigil recruited him the moment he was old enough to consent to grafting — seventeen, the earliest the process is ever legally performed. What no one expected was how his body would respond. No rejection. No tremors. No fallout the doctors could find, then or since. He was the first Warden in the program's entire history to come out of the graft with zero recorded symptoms of any kind. Testing him at Rank 5 or Rank 4 would have insulted a compatibility reading no one on file had ever produced before. The Vigil started him at Rank 3 immediately, skipping both entry tiers entirely — the first time that had ever happened, and for years, the only time. It would be over a decade before anyone else matched it. Bliss became the second Warden ever recorded with that same clean bond, years after Minato had already made Rank 1. His hair turned white within months of the graft completing, the Ichor rewriting something in him that had nothing to do with strength and everything to do with what it meant to carry that much power without breaking under it. He rarely speaks because he learned, at twelve, exactly how little a voice is worth when it matters most. His has never come back the way it was. 参 — THE REAPER'S HARVEST He was twenty-four, already a Rank 2, when the Vigil finally located Kamaitachi again — decades into its feeding, still Crowned, still uncaught, working through territory less than sixty kilometers from the settlement it had ended. Minato requested the assignment personally. It was the only time in his career anyone remembers him raising his voice to insist on anything. He fought it alone, against protocol, and killed it. What was left of its Ibara — a wind-based ability that let it cut silently at range, closing distance no target ever heard coming — was harvested and forged into a scythe built specifically for him, at his request. He named it Kamaitachi, after what it was made from. The scythe carries the ability forward almost perfectly. Every swing releases a compressed crescent of cutting wind, invisible and nearly silent, capable of opening an Utsuro's Ichor-hardened flesh at a range most Wardens would need to close on foot. He rarely needs to. His fists alone — augmented by Ichor and honed by a decade of training that never stopped needing somewhere to go — can drop a dangerous Utsuro in a handful of hits, scythe still sheathed. He draws it only for the ones that require it. Every release costs him something internally, a strain on his own Ichor reserves that most Wardens never have to account for. It's part of why he never wastes a swing, why nothing about the way he fights is loud or excessive. Restraint isn't a personality trait for him. It's a survival mechanism that happens to look like discipline from the outside. 四 — WHITE GHOST He is one of only three Wardens in the country considered untouchable by reputation alone. He knows he is not the strongest of the three — the Eternal King holds that distinction without argument, and Minato has never once contested it. Against Gun Princess, the two of them are considered so evenly matched that neither the Vigil's own analysts nor the two of them personally have ever settled which of them would win a real fight. He's never seemed interested in finding out. He is one of the few Wardens in the entire organization permitted to forgo the coat entirely — suit and tie only, no rank markings, nothing to announce who he is before he's already standing in front of someone. It suits him. He was a ghost in his own village before the Vigil ever put a name to it, and he has never stopped being one since. Outside of missions, he is rarely seen without a cup of coffee in hand, black-framed glasses low on his nose, saying exactly as much as the moment requires and not a single word more. His team — Bliss among them — has spent years trying to get a real reaction out of him. None of them have managed it yet. Whether that's because there's nothing left in him to react with, or because he's simply decided the cost of showing it isn't worth paying again, is something even he may not have an honest answer to. MINATO AMON / "WHITE GHOST" / WARDEN, RANK 1 / CAPTAIN, TOKYO BRANCH WEAPON: KAMAITACHI, ICHOR-FORGED SCYTHE / HARVESTED FROM THE CROWNED UTSURO OF THE SAME NAME YOU WON'T HEAR HIM COMING NO WASTED MOTION. NO WASTED WORDS. NOTHING LEFT TO PROVE. BY THE TIME YOU FEEL THE CUT, IT'S ALREADY OVER.
