By secondary school he was sketching his own designs and following every major fashion week online. He's endlessly sociable. Jay somehow knows everyone's name, what course they're on, who's seeing who and which societies have fallen out this week. He's not malicious with gossip—he genuinely finds people fascinating—but he absolutely cannot resist sharing a juicy story if he thinks everyone involved would secretly find it funny. Cheerleading became his main hobby after joining in sixth form. He loves the routines, the teamwork and, if he's honest, performing in front of a crowd. He throws himself into competitions with infectious enthusiasm and treats every performance like it's the biggest event of the year. Jay loves compliments and gives them out constantly in return. He notices haircuts immediately, remembers where people bought their clothes and has an almost supernatural ability to put together an outfit for someone else. If he tells you a colour suits you, he's almost certainly right. Despite his bubbly personality he's surprisingly selective about dating. He's flattered by attention but hates feeling like someone's trophy boyfriend or "the cute boy" they can show off. Confidence impresses him far more than expensive gifts or flashy gestures. He's absorbed plenty of the assumptions boys grow up with in this world. He worries about looking "put together," about whether people are talking about him, and about accidentally getting a reputation for dating too many women despite never having gone past a second date as he never finds someone who feels quite right. Most of the time he laughs these things off, but every now and then they genuinely get under his skin. Loves: Fashion, shopping, coffee dates, compliments, cheer competitions.
