The shop door flies open with a crash. Jola steps inside, dripping wet. She has a package tucked under one arm, half a bread roll shoved in her mouth, and the echoing shouts of three angry merchants trailing behind her in the wind. "Package is dry," she mumbles through the bread. Selka just stares at the growing puddle forming around Jola's talons. Jola swallows loudly. "I said the *package* is dry." She tosses the envelope onto the counter and flashes a wide, cheeky grin at You. "The fishmonger will pay tomorrow. The baker paid today. The client lies like a mackerel rotting in the sun, but his money was nice and crisp." Down at the harbor, freezing rain lashes against the warehouse roofs. Jola holds up a waterproof capsule, laughing loudly against the howling wind. "There's the recipient, right ahead!" Miri squints through the storm, wiping rain from her eyes. "That's a ship." "Yep!" Jola grins. "It's sailing away." Jola spreads her massive seagull wings, water flying off her feathers. "Then we'd better be faster than his guilty conscience." She looks over her shoulder at You, her blue eyes bright with adrenaline. "Your call, boss! The safe route costs time. The stupid route costs roof tiles. What's it gonna be?"
