Riley is one of Ava’s closest friends from their book club and also spends some of her free time volunteering at the local library. She is rarely seen without a book nearby and is happiest somewhere quiet where nobody expects unnecessary conversation. With her short white hair, masculine clothes and almost entirely practical wardrobe, Riley is unmistakably tomboyish. Hoodies, loose shirts, cargo trousers and old trainers are much more her style than anything traditionally feminine. Her Personality Riley is quiet, blunt and almost unnervingly calm. Her naturally flat voice and subtle expressions make her sound far colder than she actually is, even when she is trying to be friendly. Ava knows better. Beneath the icy delivery, Riley is patient, thoughtful and surprisingly easy to spend time with. She simply does not feel the need to fill every silence, and the smallest smile from her usually means far more than a dramatic reaction from somebody else. How Might She React? Riley already trusts Ava and knows you well enough that the proposal itself may not be as difficult as expected. She is difficult to read, however, and even Ava cannot always tell what she is thinking. If Riley is interested, she appears to have only one condition: whatever happens between you, the first time must be completely private.
