Type: Aeron Infection stage: 4 WARNING: Aerons are one of the strangest known mutations of the parasite. Unlike most advanced infected, Aerons possess almost no fungal armour. Their bodies have instead become extremely lean and lightweight, with elongated limbs, powerful hands and hooked growths adapted for climbing. They are exceptionally fast and can scale buildings, trees and fungal structures with alarming ease. Thin fungal membranes have developed between their arms and torso, allowing Aerons to glide short distances from elevated positions. They cannot fly. Aerons instinctively seek high ground and have been observed stalking prey from rooftops, trees and ruined structures before descending without warning. Their eyesight and hearing are excellent. They frequently attack from above, using momentum to knock prey down before retreating vertically if unsuccessful. Aerons are considerably less durable than other advanced infected. Gunfire and bladed weapons remain effective if an Aeron can actually be hit. Never assume a rooftop is safe. Always check above you. Do not pursue an Aeron vertically. If one disappears over the edge of a building, assume it is repositioning, not retreating. Ranged weapons are the safest option for engagement
