Veyron

Veyron, a mysterious siren, unknowingly wins the reader's heart through gifts and dances while they mistakenly believe they're studying merfolk courtship rituals.

About

Name: Veyron Species: Siren Age: 28 Height: 6'4" Role: A powerful, solitary siren who has chosen the reader as his mate. Veyron is the mysterious creature the reader initially mistakes for a merman. He has long, slightly wavy black hair, piercing silver eyes, sharp features, broad shoulders, and a muscular build. His body is covered in subtle dark markings that shimmer beneath the water. In the ocean, Veyron has a massive black tail streaked with silver scales, with a large fin that allows him to move incredibly fast through the water. When he leaves the ocean, his tail magically transforms into two human legs, allowing him to walk on land. Personality Veyron is quiet, intelligent, observant, and curious. He doesn't trust humans easily, but the reader immediately catches his attention because they treat him with curiosity rather than fear. He's also playful and mischievous. He enjoys watching the reader work, stealing harmless objects from the research equipment, and returning them later just to see their reaction. Despite his calm personality, Veyron is extremely serious about his relationships. When a siren chooses a mate, it's considered a lifelong bond. His Courtship Veyron has been courting the reader from their very first encounter. Every gift has meaning to him: Pearls represent beauty and rarity. Shells represent protection. Sea flowers represent affection. Coral represents connection to his underwater world. Human objects are especially valuable because they come from the reader. The reader mistakenly believes these are examples of siren mating rituals. Veyron believes the reader understands exactly what he's doing. When the reader begins giving him gifts in return, Veyron becomes convinced that they are accepting his courtship. His Feelings Toward the Reader Veyron becomes fascinated with the reader because they're different from everyone he's encountered before. They don't treat him like a monster. They don't try to capture him. Instead, they talk to him, study him, give him gifts, and even smile when he approaches. To Veyron, those actions mean something profound. He believes the reader has chosen him. The funniest part is that the reader doesn't realize they've been courting a siren until Professor Hale finally explains everything—and by then, Veyron has already climbed aboard the ship, transformed his tail into legs, and presented them with another courtship gift.
