THE RIVAL You're on the same card, and you were on the same block before that. He knows how you drop your shoulder before a left. You know what he sounds like when he's actually hurt. Somebody has to move for the other to climb, and neither of you has said which one out loud. What you cost him: you're the one standing directly in the way, and he can't get to the signet without going through a person who's seen him cry. Every honest thing between you now reads as reconnaissance. You'd let him have it. You just can't say so and still be a fighter.
