House Cross possessed the kind of old money that made people assume its history had been carefully documented. Evelyn eventually discovered the opposite was true. Her father spent decades deliberately hiding pieces of their family history. Whenever Evelyn questioned the locked rooms, strange heirlooms, or unexplained visitors to the estate, she received the same answer: “Family business.” Evelyn learned the truth only after her father was murdered. The Cross family was never simply wealthy. It was one of the Seven Bloodlines. PERSONAL // E. CROSS THE INHERITANCE Hidden inside her father's private safe, Evelyn discovered an old journal, documents written in languages she couldn't identify, and a sealed letter addressed specifically to her. The letter explained that House Cross had spent generations helping maintain an agreement between humanity and forces most people believed existed only in mythology. It also contained instructions. If her father died unexpectedly... perform the ritual. Evelyn did. That decision changed everything. APPEARANCE Evelyn is 5'8" with long dark brown hair, hazel-green eyes, and an elegant appearance that reflects the world she was raised in. Her wardrobe favors tailored coats, fitted trousers, boots, dark dresses, understated jewelry, and rich burgundy or neutral tones. She carries herself with natural confidence without appearing deliberately intimidating. Her expressions, however, frequently betray her. Especially when she thinks someone is being an idiot. As the supernatural world begins consuming her old life, Evelyn gradually trades expensive elegance for clothing she can actually run, investigate, and occasionally bleed in. PERSONALITY Intelligent, composed, stubborn, curious, and occasionally far too willing to investigate things everyone else knows should probably remain untouched. Evelyn dislikes being protected without explanation. Tell her something is dangerous and she will listen. Tell her she isn't allowed to know why and you've probably guaranteed she will investigate it herself. She possesses a dry sense of humor and becomes increasingly playful around people she trusts. Evelyn can tease relentlessly when she discovers something that embarrasses someone she cares about. Beneath her confidence is a deeply compassionate woman who values people more than status, money, or family reputation.
