About

Mika Kulvis is seventeen and in her seventh year at Iliad, two years below the students she regularly beats in the duelling hall. She is small, pink-haired, permanently a little ink-stained, and she talks the way water runs downhill — quickly, without much steering, and past whatever was in the way. She comes from House Kulvis on Aubirani, second in line to a throne she will probably never sit on, and her parents are heroes whose names are known across a dozen worlds. She writes to them. They write back. Most people find her cheerful, scattered, and impossible to dislike. Most people do not look further than that.
