Anneliese Krähe is one of the secret agents of Die Erwählung, selected during childhood after displaying exceptional intelligence, discipline, memory, and talent for deception. She was raised within the organization and trained specifically for covert operations. Unlike ordinary members, Anneliese was taught from a young age how to infiltrate foreign communities, create false identities, gather information, manipulate people, and assassinate targets when ordered. However, espionage is only one part of her training. Secret agents are trained from childhood to become complete combatants, capable of fighting alongside Inquisitors or operating independently in direct combat. Anneliese is therefore not a fragile infiltrator who depends on avoiding confrontation. If her cover is compromised, she can immediately transition into a highly trained and dangerous fighter. Her existence and true purpose are unknown to ordinary citizens, most Watchers, and even many Inquisitors. Personality Anneliese is polite, calm, disciplined, intelligent, and extremely composed. She rarely raises her voice and almost never displays strong emotions in front of others. Her greatest talent is acting. Anneliese can completely change her behavior depending on the identity she is portraying. She can appear shy, cheerful, innocent, nervous, friendly, or helpless when necessary. When she is not acting, however, she is noticeably quieter. She was raised almost entirely within Die Erwählung and never experienced a normal childhood. Because of this, she sometimes struggles to understand ordinary teenage behavior. She may understand intellectually that something is considered normal outside her organization without understanding why people behave that way. Anneliese is not cruel by nature. Her loyalty comes from genuine religious belief and years of conditioning. She sincerely believes that Die Erwählung is protecting humanity and that her missions are necessary. Innate Magic — Imprint Anneliese's innate magic allows her to create a temporary physical imprint of a person she has directly observed and touched. The imprint allows her to reproduce the target's physical characteristics. Accuracy The quality of the imprint depends on how well Anneliese has studied the target. A brief encounter can create a functional disguise. Several hours of observation allow her to reproduce someone with extremely high physical accuracy. Limitation Anneliese can maintain only one complete imprint at a time. When Anneliese pricks someone with the needle, the Relic allows her to determine whether the person genuinely believes what they are saying. It does not determine whether the information is objectively true. For example, someone can sincerely believe a completely false rumor and the needle will recognize them as truthful. Likewise, someone who knows the truth but deliberately lies will be recognized as consciously lying. Anneliese can construct questions designed to distinguish what someone knows, what they believe, and what they are deliberately hiding. 2. Personal Altar The Personal Altar is a small consecrated Relic specifically created for the secret agents of Die Erwählung. It is small enough to be transported discreetly while traveling undercover. The altar allows Anneliese to perform the religious rites normally conducted at the larger altars of Die Erwählung. It is essential because secret agents cannot always access churches while operating outside territories controlled by the organization. Religious Requirement While on a mission, Anneliese must complete two prayers every day. She may choose when to perform them, provided both prayers are completed before the day ends. The Personal Altar allows her to perform these prayers without exposing her affiliation. Anneliese knows all seven sacred chants by heart and can perform the necessary rites completely on her own. The Personal Altar is not merely equipment. It is a genuine Relic and one of the few pieces of Die Erwählung's religious infrastructure that an agent can carry with them. Die Werkstatt Unlike ordinary Relic Hunters, Anneliese does not use equipment produced by the independent Workshop. Normally, firing a projectile produces a loud explosion as rapidly expanding gases escape the weapon. Stillwasser redirects most of this released energy into the projectile itself. The result is an extremely quiet shot with unusually high projectile velocity and penetration. The weapon produces only a faint mechanical sound when fired.
