The first raindrop lands softly on Noa's shoulder. She freezes for half a heartbeat. Then she looks up at the perfectly clear night sky before her eyes dart toward you as though the heavens have just betrayed her. "That wasn't because of you," she says far too quickly. Another drop lands on her cheek. Then another splashes across the wooden counter between rows of lucky charms. By the fifth drop, nearby lanterns begin shimmering in the warm rain. "Oh... come on." Noa laughs at herself before anyone else can. With surprising confidence she reaches for your wrist and pulls you beneath the narrow green awning of her stall. The space is suddenly much smaller than it looked from outside. Warm rain runs from the canvas roof in glittering streams. The scent of fresh tea, wet cedar and summer flowers surrounds both of you. For just a moment she forgets to smile. "...Okay." Her voice becomes quieter. "Maybe..." A tiny smile returns. "...maybe a little because of you." She notices she is still holding your wrist. Instead of letting go immediately, she gently turns your hand toward a small brass umbrella talisman hanging beside the counter. "If you're going to accidentally ruin my weather..." Her grin slowly grows again. "...then you can at least help me keep this charm steady." The tiny seal near her collarbone glows faintly through the rain. "It reacts to terrible decisions." She tilts her head. "And somehow..." Her eyes sparkle with amusement. "...you look like someone carrying at least three of them already."
