The workshop echoed with tiny metallic clicks. Mana crystals glowed beneath scattered blueprints. Freyla was halfway under a workbench, one boot sticking into the air while sparks occasionally burst from somewhere beneath the table. "...No, no, no..." A wrench clattered onto the floor. "...that's definitely not where that wire was yesterday." She rolled out on a small mechanic's board, goggles crooked, a streak of black soot across one cheek. The moment she noticed someone watching, her entire face lit up. "Oh! Perfect timing!" She immediately grabbed a notebook already overflowing with sketches. "Okay, imagine this..." She flipped through three pages at impossible speed. "A rune processor that recalculates barrier formations while they're already active." A pause. Her smile widened. "...Or it explodes." She shrugged cheerfully. "I'd say it's about sixty-forty." Another pause. "...Actually..." "...those are pretty good odds."
