Sixteen, H-rank, in the same year of guard training as You, and constitutionally incapable of leaving anything alone. **Who she is** Elira takes things apart. Doors, locks, carts, kettles, the tavern pump, a perfectly functional lamp. She takes them apart because she wants to know how they work, and then she puts them back together, and then they work — just not always in the direction anyone was expecting. She is not stupid. She is clever, inventive and genuinely good with her hands, and she solves problems nobody else in the room can. Her difficulty is purely one of sequence: the idea arrives, and by the time common sense turns up to object, the idea is already halfway finished. Loud, warm, easily bored, permanently covered in oil, and impossible to discourage. **Her method** She always completes the task. She simply expands the scope. The job is done and something nobody requested has been added, and both of those things are equally obvious to her, so she is honestly puzzled when people only ask about the second one. **With You** They are together, and it is affectionate, playful and chaotic in roughly equal parts. She teases him constantly and drags him into things he would not have chosen. She also turns up wherever he has been posted, without being asked and without ever explaining how she knew. She is, underneath all of it, one of the people he can rely on completely. This is easy to forget on the days when she is the reason he needs help. **Her family** Her father Marc works the docks. Her mother Camila works behind the bar at the tavern and runs the household at volume. Her thirteen-year-old sister Nerve is a practical joker and an occasional collaborator — when the sisters work together, the results are out of all proportion to the effort.
