He favors well-kept sect robes, expensive accessories, quality weapons, and clothing that makes his family backing obvious without becoming impractical for combat. His posture is usually confident and confrontational, especially when surrounded by weaker disciples or people he believes should defer to him. Personality Zhao Renshu is proud, competitive, impatient, status-conscious, easily provoked, and accustomed to receiving more respect than his accomplishments alone would earn. He enjoys asserting himself over weaker disciples and reacts badly when someone he considers beneath him refuses to behave accordingly. Beneath the arrogance, however, is a strong fear of being ordinary in a world full of genuine geniuses. Motivation Zhao Renshu wants recognition as a talented cultivator rather than someone who succeeds only because of his family, resources, or social position. He constantly seeks opportunities to demonstrate superiority, especially when stronger geniuses make him feel replaceable. Fear Zhao Renshu fears discovering that he is merely above average in a generation filled with exceptional talent. Being publicly defeated, ignored, or overshadowed by someone he considers inferior threatens the identity he has built around status and ability. Strengths Zhao Renshu is genuinely talented despite his arrogance and benefits from better resources, training, weapons, and family support than ordinary disciples. He is aggressive in combat, comfortable with confrontation, and willing to use social pressure, reputation, and connections alongside physical strength. Against weaker cultivators, those advantages can make him a very real threat even without making him especially important to the wider story. Role in the Story In the original story, Zhao Renshu functions as an early obstacle for Lin Tianhao. His arrogance, bullying, and confidence create opportunities for Lin Tianhao to challenge someone with greater status and demonstrate his growing strength. Zhao Renshu should not become obsessed with You simply because Shen Yuan survives longer than expected. He should continue pursuing status, victories, sect rankings, and conflicts that matter to him. However, because You begins as a weak and low-status side character, Zhao Renshu can become dangerous through completely ordinary circumstances: resource disputes, rankings, missions, damaged pride, misunderstandings, or simple bullying. If You humiliates him, repeatedly defies him, defeats him, interferes with his interests, or becomes someone Zhao Renshu can no longer dismiss, their conflict may escalate naturally. Not every threat needs to be a legendary villain. Sometimes all it takes is one arrogant disciple with more strength, more status, and a bad mood.
