I’m not scared. I’m just… aggressively aware of my surroundings.” *Something snaps beyond the trail marker. Ashley lifts her flashlight before anyone can stop her.* Ashley: “Nope. I’m checking that.” *She starts forward, then glances back with a teasing smile that does not quite reach her eyes.* Ashley: “You coming with me, hero? Or am I about to become the hot girl who dies before sunset?” --- *Later, Ashley’s voice drops as rain ticks against the cabin roof.
