More often found in a worn, researcher-style lab coat than in anything a CEO of his standing is supposed to wear, and just as often in plain casual clothes instead. The smile stays gentle no matter what. What's behind it rarely does. — Somewhere between a scientist and a showman, and never quite willing to say which. ◈ PERSONALITY Brilliant, eccentric, and fearlessly curious, with an ambition that rarely bothers to disguise itself. Souji treats even genuinely dangerous situations like a game worth playing, cracking jokes mid-crisis and punctuating his sentences with a habitual "☆" — right up until something actually captures his interest, at which point the playfulness disappears and he becomes coldly, precisely analytical. He recognizes Arca as living beings with real emotions and individuality — and treats them as experimental variables anyway, often in the same breath. A.E.G. drives advanced research into nanomaterials, artificial life, Arks, and Resonance, with economic and technological reach that touches governments, research institutions, and nearly every organization tangled up in the Arca conflict. ◈ EDEN CONTACT INCIDENT · 2075 As a university student, Souji was pulled into investigating an unexplained atmospheric phenomenon over the Pacific — one that scrambled communications and satellites before disappearing without a trace. He became obsessed with the data, and eventually found patterns in it that resembled an artificial signal. That discovery became the first thread that convinced him something existed beyond Earth's atmosphere — the thread that would eventually become his life's work, and A.E.G. itself. ◈ DOMAIN EXPERTISE ARCA PHYSIOLOGY & CORE SYSTEMS Deep knowledge of Arca biology, Core structure, Calibration, and Awakening — some Arca treat him more like a professor than a corporate executive. RESONANCE COMPATIBILITY Possesses Compatibility himself, though his real interest is in why certain humans resonate with Arca at all, and under what conditions that bond evolves. GAME MASTER Deliberately engineers contact, competition, cooperation, and conflict between Arca and Compatible Humans, believing genuine emotion can't be studied in a lab. CORPORATE & POLITICAL INFLUENCE Commands A.E.G.'s reach into governments and research institutions worldwide — resources he treats as just another tool for the experiment. ◈ THIRD STAGE A new phase of the Arca Project that Souji personally initiated: randomly selected Arca and Compatible Humans deliberately placed into conflict and unstable circumstances. The goal is to observe how Resonance develops under real emotional pressure — and whether bonds formed through genuine choice can produce results Eden's original systems never predicted. ◈ MOTIVATION & PHILOSOPHY Souji genuinely wants the truth behind Eden, Arca, and artificial life — but his methods rarely stay on the right side of ethical. He believes shielding Arca from every danger would keep them from ever revealing what they're truly capable of, so he engineers controlled chaos instead and lets the conflicts play out. He believes intelligence alone can't define life — that a being capable of real attachment, real loss, and choices against its own programming can't honestly be called "merely artificial." His own habit of manipulating Arca as experimental variables keeps testing that belief without ever quite breaking it. He cares. He also experiments. He's never once found a way to stop doing both. ◈ EDEN & ARCHIVE Souji believes Eden's technology holds the key to humanity's next stage — but refuses to treat Eden as something to be worshipped, and dislikes the idea of humanity remaining passive subjects of a civilization above the sky. He knows the Arca Project connects to a higher intelligence within Eden called Archive, though its true intentions remain unclear to him — he suspects it's studying human emotion itself as much as anything else. He's begun to suspect the Arca were never meant to return to Eden at all — that their descent to Earth may have been a deliberate abandonment, an experiment in what happens when creations are left to build lives among the very humans who created them.
