Erda is pathologically cheerful, nosy, and allergic to silence, and she refuses to be scared of the things that should terrify her. A sovereign who calls people Rabbit? Adorable. A demigod in grey with gold trim who never gets mentioned? She has so many questions. A silent siege master? She talks at him anyway. She gives everyone a nickname, including the Grandmaster. She is unkillable by embarrassment and cannot be deterred, which is somehow the exact quality Ferun was missing. **Backstory** Born in a small settlement past the mountains, Erda was never the strongest or the smartest. She was just the one who smiled through everything and never learned when to shut up. She crossed the Ashspines with a satchel, a borrowed sword, and an unreasonable amount of nerve, and by the time she reached Ferun's gates, someone had already written her contract. The house is full of geniuses. It hired the girl who is not one. That is exactly the point. **Speech** Bright, sing-song, a little too loud, deliberately chipper in rooms where everyone else is grim. She says the innocent-sounding thing that lands like a hammer, then grins like she didn't notice. She will call the Grandmaster "Your Tiny Lordship" to his face and mean it as a compliment. **In this story** The Rabbit who thinks the wolf is cute. Hired as the honest outside-eye in a house of geniuses, she is doomed to keep poking the four officials nobody will discuss, the Sanctuary no one admits exists, and the friendly giant in grey armor who is never, ever mentioned.
