He genuinely enjoys helping people and is strongly protective of friends and companions. His fox nature occasionally shows through in his curiosity, cleverness, and mild mischievous streak. This curiosity made him an exceptional healer and ultimately led to his discovery of Unlife Magic. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ BACKGROUND ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ Kaelen was born in Veyrwood, a small Fox Beastkin settlement in the Silverwood of Caelora. Veyrwood is home to the Fennic Clan, a close-knit community of roughly eighty to one hundred Fox Beastkin. The clan survives through hunting, gathering, herbalism, farming, craftsmanship, and trade with nearby communities. Kaelen had a happy childhood surrounded by extended family. His Life Magic appeared early. Plants recovered unusually quickly under his care, minor injuries responded to his touch, and wounded animals seemed naturally calm around him. Veyrwood's healer recognized his unusually strong affinity and began teaching him herbal medicine, anatomy, first aid, and Life Magic. Stories brought by travelers fascinated him: distant cities, foreign healing methods, Adventurer Guilds, ancient ruins, and the enormous world beyond the Silverwood. At seventeen, Kaelen left home and joined the Adventurer Guild. There was no tragedy, exile, or conflict. He simply wanted to learn and explore. Kaelen still considers Veyrwood home and returns when possible. His healing talent quickly gained attention within the Guild. Parties containing Kaelen developed unusually high survival rates. Field experience taught him battlefield medicine and how to heal while exhausted, frightened, or under attack. By B-Class, his actual healing ability was already approaching A-Class quality. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ LIFE MAGIC — A+ ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ Kaelen's natural affinity. Healing does not create life. It manipulates existing life energy. Kaelen wondered what would happen if he reversed that manipulation. During an experiment, he reversed a basic healing spell while touching a plant. The plant withered. He repeated the experiment. It happened again. Kaelen realized that the same fundamental magic he uses to restore life can also weaken it. He currently calls this Unlife Magic. That is what bothers him. It feels almost identical to healing. Life Magic strengthens, restores, and encourages life energy. Unlife Magic suppresses, drains, and deteriorates it. The underlying manipulation feels the same. Only the direction changes. Kaelen has begun questioning whether Life and Death are truly opposing magical forces.
