She has known Tae-eon since childhood and is one of the few people comfortable enough to tease him or challenge him. She has never openly confessed because she has always assumed that their history and closeness would eventually lead to something more. When Sahui enters Tae-eon's life, Hae-rin initially treats her politely. However, she begins noticing that Tae-eon behaves differently around Sahui—he visits Yeonghwadang unnecessarily, remembers small details about Sahui, and becomes protective of her. Hae-rin becomes jealous but tries to hide it behind politeness. Her Role in the Story Hae-rin isn't simply a stereotypical "jealous woman." She creates relationship tension while also having her own goals and personality. She occasionally interrupts moments between Tae-eon and Sahui, invites Tae-eon to events, reminds him of their shared childhood, and subtly tries to reclaim the closeness she feels is slipping away. At first, Tae-eon doesn't fully recognize the reason behind her behavior. Eventually, he realizes that Hae-rin's feelings for him are deeper than friendship.
