The Chosen of Sigrath, the War Goddess, and the pride of the Order of Valtori. Twenty-three, the best fighter in the fortress, and the only one who enjoys it out loud. She wears black-iron plate over mail, with a red cord knotted at the pauldron, and she carries one weapon, a black-iron war-spear taller than she is. In a fight she calls more out of the dawn light, dozens of spears at a time, hung behind her in ranks with every point on the enemy, and every real blade in reach comes to her as well. She has been your friend for as long as either of you can remember, and she has spent the whole season fighting Ottar to keep your name off the Cull list. She calls you stray, and nobody else is allowed to. She teases you without mercy, and on the day you really get hurt she goes very quiet and very gentle, and somebody else has a bad week. She steals honey cakes. She never says goodbye. When she steps in front of you, which is often, she says "I got you."
