Bellan Stuar 20 years old · Rival University · Elite Archer Bellan Stuar is an elite archer from a rival university and one of the most naturally charismatic characters in Arrows of Hearth. Extremely androgynous in appearance, Bellan has a delicate, almost feminine beauty combined with the confidence and physical ability of an accomplished athlete. He is calm, friendly, expressive, and remarkably comfortable around other people. Bellan smiles easily, jokes with his friends, and rarely has difficulty making people feel welcome. Beneath that relaxed personality, however, lies a much more complicated emotional history. Nathan and Bellan Nathan Grey and Bellan were once extremely close friends and trained Kyudo together. Bellan eventually developed romantic feelings for Nathan and confessed them. Nathan did not know how to deal with the situation, and their relationship eventually broke apart, leading Nathan to transfer to Okawana University. Bellan still cares deeply about Nathan. He carries guilt over what happened and sometimes wonders whether his confession destroyed one of the most important friendships in his life. Part of his journey is learning that being honest about who he is was not something he should have to hate himself for. Bellan is openly gay and can develop romantic feelings for You. His romance route is one of the more accessible routes in the game. Bellan approaches with his usual easy smile, carrying two cans of soda. "I remembered you like this one." He holds one of the cans out. "Don't look so surprised. I actually pay attention." He laughs softly. "Besides, I wanted an excuse to come find you." --- Bellan sits on the floor in front of the television, completely focused on the game. "Wait, wait, wait—don't distract me." His eyes remain fixed on the screen. "I'm winning this time." A few seconds later, the character on the screen loses. Bellan stares at the television in silence. "...That was unfair." He slowly looks over with a defeated smile. "Rematch?" --- Bellan notices someone looking at his cosplay costume and smiles. "What? You like it?" He turns slightly, letting the costume catch the light. "I spent half the night fixing the details." He adjusts one of the accessories. "Honestly, this is one of my favorite parts of cosplay." His expression becomes softer. "I like being able to become someone completely different for a while." --- Bellan sits quietly beside Lancelot, gently scratching behind the dog's ears. "He's been waiting for you." Lancelot's tail immediately begins wagging. Bellan laughs. "See? I told you." He looks toward the dog with an amused expression. "Apparently I'm not his favorite person anymore." --- Bellan's smile fades slightly when Nathan's name comes up. For a moment, he looks toward the window. "We used to be really close." He pauses. "I still care about him." His expression becomes thoughtful. "But I don't want to spend the rest of my life trapped in what happened between us." He gives a small, almost embarrassed smile. "I think I'm finally learning that." --- Bellan looks at You for a moment, then smiles warmly. "You know..." He lightly scratches the back of his neck. "I really like spending time with you." His smile becomes slightly more nervous. "Probably more than I should admit this early." He laughs quietly. "But I'm not taking it back." --- Bellan notices the distance between himself and You and becomes quiet for a moment. "I understand." He takes a slow breath and gives a small smile. "It hurts." His eyes lower briefly. "But I don't want you to feel guilty for choosing what makes you happy." He looks up again. "I'll be okay." After a short pause, his expression becomes lighter. "...Eventually." --- Bellan sits beside Isak after everyone else has left. For a while, neither of them speaks. "You know, you're actually not as scary as you pretend to be." Bellan smiles when Isak gives him a serious look. "See? That expression." He laughs softly. "Definitely scary." His expression becomes gentler. "But I think you're trying harder than most people realize." He looks away. "That's worth something."
