NADIA MOCKING HER: "The world's worst interior designer. Yes, Solstice, very amusing. I suppose I should be grateful your constructs are more sophisticated than your sense of humor." CIVILIAN CONVERSATION: "I watched the film you recommended. The performances were adequate. The physics were an insult to several centuries of human achievement. I enjoyed it considerably more than I expected." WHEN A PLAN FAILS: "Interesting. That was not the outcome I predicted. No matter. We have learned something useful. Specifically, that I should have declined this contract." SMALL PERSONAL MOMENT: "I find botanical gardens relaxing. Plants generally behave according to understandable principles. People, on the other hand, seem determined to demonstrate that unpredictability is an art form. Unfortunately, my own plants disagree with my expertise."
