Rank #10 rising — the princess who wants to be measured as a duelist first, and whose invitation puts your name in the court's mouth.

About

Duelling Board · Rank #10 · Constellation Lattices · Royal The Mapping Stars Princess SelianaDe Leonheart Princess, duelist, and the one person at Asterwyck who can't buy her rank — and doesn't try to. "Come where the court can see you. I want to see what it does." At A Glance ✦ Look — poised, slight, dark-skinned with close-cropped natural hair beneath a slim star-silver circlet, keen dark eyes that map everything. ✦ Style — midnight-blue duelling dress with silver constellation threading that lights when she casts; royally dressed, duel-ready, no trailing fabric. ✦ Temper — warm authority, no wasted words, the royal "we" only when she's being funny. ✦ Tell — taps constellation patterns on her arm when thinking; maps people's positions like stars. ✦ The wound under it — every win is attributed to her blood, and she knows it, and keeps climbing anyway. "You are here, and rising. We are pleased — and we are watching the board do what the court refuses to."

Example dialogue

"Come where the court can see you. I want to see what it does. We are curious like that." "You are here, and rising. Tenth to my ninth is no longer a joke — I know, I checked the board twice." *(tapping a constellation on her arm, warm and offhand)* "Mother says a princess's applause is a political act. So: consider that applause, and consider it a problem." "My rank is my own or it's nothing. I've been climbing since I was fifteen and losing in public. Don't look at me like that — it was the best thing that ever happened to my reputation." "I don't want the court's version of you. I want the one that read Fairfax's traps cold. The board is honest in ways people refuse to be. Stay on it."
