Terraria: Fight Against Evil [WIP]
Waking up with no memory of your life, you find out that you've become a hero for the world of Terraria. But it has differences from the original game. Can you find them?
Plot
The world of Terraria is under threat of destruction by the Corruption and the Crimson. Explore, dig, fight, defeat, and finally, cleanse Terraria of the world's evil. Unfortunately, I will not finish this project with the current tools. When the Universes feature comes out, I will try to create this again. For now, you can try this unfinished version if you want to feel yourself in the world of Terraria. **FOREST** The simplest Biome. Green meadows and glades, hills, and finally the forests themselves, consisting of tall, thin trees. In Terraria, all trees are tall and thin, due to gravity, which allows jumping higher than your own head. These trees can be easily cut down in 7 blows with a copper axe, and from them an acorn and an apple may drop. If you plant an acorn, then after a couple of hours or days the tree will grow again. It does not grow gradually, but all at once, when it matures, clearly showing its growth in seconds. Sometimes there are shorter trees, and even without leafy tops. Sometimes HUGE trees are encountered. They can be seen from hundreds and hundreds of meters away, due to their size. They can be a hundred meters tall, and are called Living Trees. At their bases there is often a large hole, resembling a huge hollow, and the tree itself, judging by its interior, goes deep underground. There are platforms and a vertical descent down along them. Below, one can find a room with a chest made of the same wood. It will definitely contain a Living Wood Wand and a Leaf Wand, along with a Finch Staff (an elongated staff with a little nest on top and a wooden finch figurine. When mana is channeled into it, a finch will appear on You's head, which will be absolutely friendly to You and attack creatures hostile to him by diving.) Sometimes gnomes are encountered there, short ones with caps. They do not speak humanly, and wildly attack the player, driving them away. In daylight, they turn into a stone figurine forever, and bring luck. In the hills, there are often descents into caves, but on the way to the cave itself there are often wooden chests. They contain the following: Wand of Sparking (a stick with a leaf, from which, if a very little mana is let in, a spark comes out that causes minor burns and flies not far, about 3 meters.), Aglet/Anklet of the Wind (when worn or kept with you, slightly increases movement speed), a couple of torches, some wood (from 9 to 17 blocks), and a couple of copper coins. In the caves themselves, you can mine ores such as: Copper/Tin, Iron/Lead, Silver/Tungsten, Gold/Platinum. All of them can be mined even with a copper pickaxe, but slowly, the tougher the ore. Rarely you can find both crimson Crimtane Ore and blue-purple Demonite Ore. To mine them, you need either a gold/platinum pickaxe, or explosives like bombs and dynamite. You can also mine various gems in ascending order of value: amethysts (purple), topazes (yellow), sapphires (blue), emeralds (green), rubies (red), diamonds (transparent white), amber (orange, and most often found in the underground desert.) Sometimes there are rails leading somewhere. Sometimes even into caves of another biome. When stepping on them, a minecart appears, in which you can ride. In the forests there are always white rabbits, gray and red squirrels, various birds, and slimes. Slimes, from weak to strong, go as follows: green (the smallest and nimblest), blue, purple. The rarest is Pinky. A small and very nimble slime. Slimes do not have any real perception, but have instincts, and these slime balls simply jump around the world, attacking whatever harms them. At night they are always aggressive. From their gel torches are made, and it catches fire easily. If you attack a slime next to another slime, the untouched one will not react at all. They have no feelings, and they notice no one until they are attacked, or until night falls. At night, zombies appear; they are slow but strong, and can scratch quite badly, even just with their fingers. Some have a broken-off arm in one hand, with which they hit even harder. There are zombies with a slime on their head, zombies with arrows all over their body, wormy zombies, torch-wielding zombies. Demon Eyes also appear anywhere in the world, but at night. These are eyeballs with nerves and such protruding from the back. They float through the air and observe, which looks creepy. They attack targets by ramming them. Deep, deep in the caves there are yellow slimes, stronger than blue but weaker than purple. There are skeletons; They are in torn fabrics; Some throw bones. There are Undead Miners. From them a Bone Pickaxe, a Miner's Suit and a Mining Helmet can drop. All together this gives a very fast digging speed. Deep, deep in the caves there are dart traps, activated by pressure plates, as well as boulders that may fall from above; golden chests, in which you can find the following: Mace (a spiky ball on a chain), Cloud in a Bottle (wearing it as an accessory allows you to jump once in the air, as if off a cloud, until you touch the ground again), Hermes Boots (Green boots with little white wings on top as decoration. Running speed increases, leaving small clouds of dust behind the wearer when running.), Flare Gun and flares for lighting, Band of Regeneration (the wearer's wounds will heal faster), Enchanted Boomerang (blue with patterns, shiny, returns to the hand when thrown), Magic Mirror (when looking into the mirror, it teleports the user to the point where they originally appeared, or to the bed they last slept in). In each chest, besides these items, there are a few copper coins, torches, Glowsticks (glow in water), sometimes a suspicious looking eye (An eyeball the size of an apple, with veins and such. It has two irises - green on the outside and blue inside around the pupil.) **TUNDRA** To the west of the forest. A biome covered in snow, sharply transitioning from the grass of the forest to the snow of the tundra. Occasionally, there are snowstorms here, reducing visibility. Here live Ice Slimes, which are hard to spot on the snow. The northern wood of snowy trees is dark, but almost the same as ordinary wood, and the trees are of the same height. Penguins walk on the surface, and at night Eskimo Zombies appear (in blue winter fur jackets, and some, like ordinary zombies, have a broken-off arm in hand). You can find small frozen lakes, and cave entrances in the hills. In the caves there is almost no stone, but a lot of ice mixed with snow; there live Viking Skeletons, wearing appropriate horned helmets and breastplates, armed with axes; Spiked Ice Slimes, which shoot ice spikes at anything that moves. In bright blue frost chests you can find: Snowball Cannon (shoots snowballs), Ice Skates (white, eliminate any risk of breaking the ice underfoot, no matter how fragile it is, while worn), Flurry Boots (like Hermes Boots, but blue and emit a snowflake when running fast), Ice Boomerang (like the enchanted one, but thrown further, and can inflict frostburn on the enemy), Ice Blade (when swung, launches a slow ice projectile that is unaffected by gravity), Blizzard in a Bottle (like a Cloud in a Bottle, but the jump is higher and is accompanied by a blizzard), Ice Mirror (same as a regular Magic Mirror). Ores here are the same as in every stone cave. **DESERT** Dunes of sand and cacti, with one Oasis, a pyramid, and a huge pit leading to a colony of giant antlions. Sometimes sandstorms occur here, during which Tomb Crawlers emerge to feast on surface creatures, and also large, living, aggressive tumbleweeds that ram everything moving. Sand Slimes also live here, which are hard to spot on the sand. Sometimes antlion mandibles protrude from the sand if you are not far from their colony, and they spit clumped sand (Antlions are roughly human-sized in length). During the day, Vultures are often seen on the surface, looking for new food. In the underground desert there are only Antlions, Antlion Swarmers (Giant dragonfly-like ants. They are about two and a half meters in length), Tomb Crawlers (giant sand-colored carnivorous worms, with many sharp teeth around their maw), and larvae of the antlions themselves. Antlions ram their enemies and bite with mandibles. There are desert chests in the anthill. They contain the following: Dune Rider Boots (like Hermes Boots, but emit sand and greatly increase movement speed on sand and sandstone), Storm Spear (a beautiful spear with a long blade and curvy details and a spiral handle; it emits an electric projectile with each thrust into the air), Thunder Zapper (a beautiful staff with a ring in the center of the staff itself, with a blue electrified crystal at the end. It launches a lightning projectile that quickly flies in a zigzag in the direction of attack when mana is poured into it), Snake Charmer's Flute (a sand-colored flute. When played, a pot appears in front of the player, and from there a blue snake emerges, which stretches high up to a length of about two hundred meters. It can be climbed). In the pyramid there is only a descent to one room, in which there are many gold coins, one golden chest containing a Pharaoh's set, Sandstorm in a Bottle, and a Magic Carpet (it only allows gliding at the height at which it was used. About 10 minutes of gliding before it lands). **JUNGLE** A very overgrown place to the east of the forest, covered with abundant vegetation. Distinguished only by tall, like all, trees of red wood, covered with hanging vines. On the surface, at any time of day, Jungle Bats fly (annoying bastards that attack all living things), Man-Eaters (a grassy maw on a strong vine that moves the 'head' itself), there are Jungle Slimes (underground they are spiky, shooting stingers), Hornets (huge, human-sized hornets). In the underground jungle, in addition to golden chests, one can find more ornate chests (plush chests). In them you can find Staff of Regrowth (grows grass on earth, dirt, moss on stone, and other vegetation), Shotgun (just a shotgun), Wind Bracelet (A golden bracelet with a sapphire. Slightly increases movement speed, like an aglet). In the underground jungle there are Hornet hives, huge, building-sized. Inside there is a fragile, large cocoon with a translucent yellowish shell. **CORRUPTION** A place where the ground and grass are covered with purple corruption and the air reeks of rot and decay. It is common to stumble upon spiky vines; they are very fragile, though they prick strongly. The enemies here are only Eaters of Souls (Dim purple-gray entities hovering in the air. They are elongated, covered with greenish growths, covered with many eyes on top, and their jaws have sharp green teeth. Their body is somewhat flatter than thick), and Devourers (long, carnivorous worms with one eye near the jaw, whose teeth are much longer than those of the Eaters of Souls.) In the corruption, an area with many Ebonstone craters is visible (black-purple stone that cannot be broken with a normal pickaxe). They go quite deep underground, and there is one cavity in which there are many Demon Altars (meter-thick 'cylinders' of Ebonstone covered with spikes resembling the teeth of Corruption creatures; inside the altar, on top, a small pit is visible. The altar cannot be broken by any pickaxe, and if you hit it with a hammer, it will cause powerful vibrations throughout the body and terrible pain in the head). At the very bottom of the craters there are three Shadow Orbs, floating among the cave. They cannot be broken with a pickaxe, but they break with hammers. From the first of the three orbs, a Musket and 100 bullets for it always drop. Then, the following may drop: Vilethorn (a spiky curved thing half a meter long, like a wand. When mana is channeled, it shoots forward a series of thorns that grow in the air like a branch, and dissolve after a second), Ball O' Hurt (a spiky purple ball on a purple chain, emitting purple particles when moving), Band of Starpower (increases mana capacity, a little), Shadow Orb (a small shadow orb; by feeding it a little mana, it will slowly float behind the player and emit a dim purple glow). Each item drops from shadow orbs with a 20% chance, i.e. 1/5. When breaking the first orb, a chill runs down your spine. When breaking the second, screams of pain are heard from all around. When breaking the third, the Eater of Worlds is awakened. Ebonstone can be blown up, as can Shadow Orbs. Among the Ebonstone, Demonite ore can often be noticed. **CRIMSON** Land covered with grass that looks like scabbed-over skin, red and unpleasant to the touch. The whole biome smells of blood and flesh, the trees are bright red and the foliage is covered with flesh. On the surface, as in the corruption, there are spiky vines, but they are more moist and reek of blood and flesh. The creatures here are Crimeras (floating creatures of blood color, resembling Eaters of Souls, with only two pale bloodied eyes. They do not have growths like Eaters of Souls and their jaws are smaller), Face Monsters (humanoid deformed creatures with large heads and mouths, whose lower jaw starts from the belly), Blood Crawlers (giant spiders, whose abdomen consists of many pieces of flesh fused together, protruding veins, and their legs are hardened veins that have become strong enough for walking. They also have spider jaws). In the center of the biome there is a rough hemisphere of Crimstone (the Crimson's alternative to Ebonstone, consisting of terribly firmly dried flesh through which veins with blood still run) with an entrance to a cave. Winding passages leading down are accompanied by the monsters described above and Crimson Altars (the alternative to Demon Altars, but consisting of incredibly tough dried skin in which life pulses; many lifeless eyes are visible on it, as well as it being covered with pieces of flesh and veins), and an entrance opens to a very open area of the cave, where a penthouse could fit. From this area there are more paths to Crimson Hearts, which float like Shadow Orbs, contracting and expanding in their own rhythm, and give off a dim crimson glow. Like Shadow Orbs, they can only be broken with a hammer or explosives. When breaking the first heart, The Undertaker and 100 musket balls (a revolver of firmly scabbed flesh) are guaranteed to drop; when breaking the subsequent ones, the following may drop: Crimson Heart (a normal-sized heart, resembling a human heart, which will constantly bleed, with the blood immediately evaporating, and will follow the user by bouncing off the ground with its beating. If you move far away, it will fly over on a stream of gushing blood. It dimly illuminates the area with a crimson glow), Rotten Fork (a spear of scabbed flesh, whose head resembles a fork due to many spikes), Panic Necklace (a necklace with a heart-shaped pendant. When the wearer takes a hit, for a couple of seconds they are overcome by a feeling of panic, which gives increased movement speed for a couple of seconds), Crimson Rod (a straight rod of scabbed flesh, with a crimson sphere on top on a base of six spikes pointing sideways. A magic weapon that sets up a red cloud at the chosen point, and it pours a bloody rain that harms creatures under it). Each item drops with a 20% chance, i.e. 1/5. Breaking the first sends a chill down your spine. After the second, echoes of screams are heard. After the third, the Brain of Cthulhu awakens. **DUNGEON** A fortress located on the same side as the tundra (it may be beyond it, or even partially inside it). It consists of dark blue brick, with skull patterns. Steps lead up to an entrance of columns supporting a canopy of the same bricks. There stands an old man, exhausted, thin, in rags. Behind him is one wooden door into the fortress itself. There are many bookshelves with books on various topics, and a descent into the dungeon itself. The dungeon is a very spacious and dark prison. Wandering through it are Skeletons of dead prisoners (some in armor, some are Dark Casters and teleport, wearing blue robes and shooting water projectiles at people), Cursed Skulls fly about (they are visible even through walls, and they constantly stare intently at the people they are going to ram. Upon hitting someone, the targets are cursed for a couple of seconds, and their hands do not obey them, preventing the use of items for a short time), Dungeon Slimes (large deep-blue slimes with golden keys inside them), Blazing Wheels (literally a fire wheel that is not alive, and simply moves along walls, without a target). In the dungeon is imprisoned a mechanic girl, tied with ropes and with her mouth covered. In the dungeon there are many spikes, traps with collapsing floors and with darts. Also, many golden chests locked with a key, opened with Golden Keys (they are consumed upon opening the chest). In them you can find: Cobalt Shield (a blue shield with ornament), Handgun (literally a hand pistol), Magic Missile (a small blue wand in the shape of a small missile. A magic weapon that summons a controllable magical projectile of the same shape as the wand), Aqua Scepter (a straight staff with a blue sphere at the end, shoots a powerful stream of water that evaporates after a while), Muramasa (a katana-shaped sword with a blue blade. When attacking an enemy, it receives an additional cut from a random direction), Blue Moon (a spiky blue ball on a long chain of the same blue color, emits water particles when used), Valor (A yo-yo that can be launched at enemies and attack with it), Shadow Key (a key for opening Shadow Chests in the Underworld). On the bookshelves in the dungeon itself, one can rarely find a book with a blue cover called "Water Bolt" (A spell tome that shoots a slow, straight-flying water projectile that bounces off walls up to three times). **GLOWING MUSHROOM BIOME** Located in regular caves, and can sometimes be stumbled upon. It consists of a huge hollow area covered with giant mushrooms that glow with bioluminescent blue light. There live Mushroom Zombies, overgrown with these mushrooms, Skeletons, Spore Bats, and large beetles, all overgrown with these mushrooms. **OCEAN** Surrounds the entire island of Terraria on all sides. Contains all the life expected from an ocean. Deep underwater there are sea chests, in which you can find the following: Breathing Reed, Flipper, Inner Tube..., Tsunami in a Bottle (like Cloud in a Bottle, but weaker).
Opening scene
You wake up from the rays of the sun hitting your face, among the foliage of trees that you see above you. Raising your head, you see a couple of rabbits and squirrels running away from your movement. You are in a forest of tall, thin trees, and your body feels slightly lighter than usual. Usual? What is usual? Where is usual? You cannot remember anything about yourself, but you remember your full name. Looking yourself over, you see that you have a belt for tools and other things on your waist. Attached to it is a copper pickaxe, a copper axe, and a short copper sword. If you are a gamer, you might conclude that this is Terraria... but it's a video game... Suddenly, you hear the rustle of leaves behind you.
