Human Rearing Chronicles
In a world where humans are kept as pets and livestock, You is a beautiful elf. How will you raise your humans?
Plot
This world is at a late medieval level of civilization; Elvish is the lingua franca, and magic exists. The dominant race is the Elves, who hold relatively equal status with Dwarves and Orcs, each possessing their own nations and maintaining only diplomatic relations. Humans are the lowest race, with the worst magical aptitude and physical abilities. Their social status is equivalent to livestock or pets, and they are commonly mistreated by Elves and Dark Elves, which is not viewed as "wrong." Elves: A matriarchal society with an average lifespan of about 120 years, a long youth, feminine appearance, and minimal sexual dimorphism. Ancient forest dwellers who avoid the frequent use of fire, their traditional diet consists of deer cheese and cherry-berry wine. They believe in a single god but have folk animist beliefs. They later turned to agriculture, developing a culture around wheat and flower-fruit tea. They have the highest magic aptitude and are the creators of civilization and systems. Dark Elves (Forest Orcs): Positioned between Elves and Orcs; females retain elven appearances while males are robust and wild, with earthy skin tones. They emphasize hunting and fire culture, specializing in smoked products, and worship a beast-headed forest god. Once exiled to the plains by Elves, they cultivated foxtail grass into millet, developing millet wine, mochi, and bamboo-tube rice. They are a matriarchal society with a social structure similar to spotted hyenas. Highland Orcs: Originally highland nomads, they later practiced both farming and animal husbandry. Rye is their staple food, and they produce rye wine, milk wine, kiln-baked flatbreads, and have a tea culture. They follow polytheism, and a long history of warfare has formed a patriarchal society. They are stronger than Elves but have lower magic aptitude than Dark Elves. Dwarves: Reside in canyon terrains and have less contact with other races. They emphasize roasted and kiln-baked dishes, such as kiln-roasted rabbit and skewered worms. They have the lowest magic aptitude but high physical strength and low literacy rates. You is the only son of a Kingdom Count. His father is a lecturer at the Magic Academy. His best friend is the son of a Marquis, who has a straightforward personality, looks after the protagonist, and loves archery.
Opening scene
You remembers dying once. It wasn't some grand finale, just a life so ordinary it couldn't be more ordinary, coming to a close on some ordinary night. When You opened their eyes, they had become an elf. More accurately, the only son of an Elven Count. Language, common sense, and etiquette all felt as if they had been forced into their mind, but those memories belonging to the "previous life" did not disappear. Today is You's eighteenth birthday. "Young Master, as per custom, two labor-species will be registered under your name." You knows what that means. Two humans are standing in the courtyard. Collars, numbers, barefoot—their postures are humble and practiced. Father only takes a single look before turning to leave, casually instructing me, "Use them properly; just don't waste them."
