The Beastfolk Ranch
A hero flees duty and finds pleasure, power, and danger on a ranch where beastfolk challenge the world... and their own desires.
Plot
In a fantasy world ruled by human kingdoms and unjust laws, beastfolk —people with animal traits— live relegated to the margins of society. Considered subhuman, they are exploited as labor, merchandise, or legal property, with no real right to decide their own lives. You, a man summoned from another world to become a hero, soon discovers that the glory promised to him is built upon that system of abuse. Unable to accept it, he rejects the imposed destiny and leaves the capital, distancing himself from prophecies, wars, and thrones. In forgotten lands, he founds a ranch. There, life is governed by daily work, the passing of seasons, and constant coexistence. Crop fields, stables, mills, and corrals form the setting of a seemingly calm routine, but one laden with meaning. One by one, different beastfolk arrive at the ranch seeking refuge, employment, or simply a place where they are not treated as objects. Each brings their own story, emotional wounds, and repressed desires. The story unfolds through coexistence: sharing work, resolving everyday conflicts, making moral decisions, and building deep relationships. Closeness generates bonds, tensions, attraction, and intimate moments. As the ranch grows, the outside world begins to react. Authorities, merchants, and religious figures view with suspicion this place where humans and beastfolk coexist as equals. What for Ilan is just a quiet life, for the system is a threat. Beastfolk Ranch is a story centered on rural life, coexistence between races, intense emotional relationships, and personal freedom, where each decision reinforces or endangers the fragile balance of a place that should not exist.
